Chapter 2---

_________________________________________________________________________

"The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies. It comes from friends and your loved ones."

Narrator POV

In Delilah's dream, she wore a white gown with white shoes and a white veil. Delilah looked to her side to see a man holding her arm and walking with her down the blue carpet with white petals carelessly placed along the path.

She looked to her other side to see people sitting in white chairs in the sand. She didn't know where she was or when this was taking place. She looked ahead to see a man in a suit standing next to a man with a white robe holding a book.

Delilah was so close to seeing the person's face, until she was awoken by the sound of thunder. She jolted up from her sleep and looked around.

She wasn't wet because she had made a roof above her head out of wood that was suppose to be thrown out. She lied back down on the cardboard and looked up at her 'ceiling'. Delilah had mixed colors on the wood to make a picture filled with yellow, pink, green, red, purple, and even blue. The picture was of a place with sand all of the ground.

There was a large, large lake that had rough movement across the surface to form waves. She had never seen a lake like it before, but always dreamed of seeing it in real life.

Delilah was surprised when she could dream of people and places that didn't exist, but not as surprised when she found out the Royals let her live. She was to wear rags and not have a home. No one was to shelter her or aid her in any way.

Sarah had broken that promise many times, but when Sarah offered Delilah to stay with her, Delilah said no. It was much to risky for Sarah and her family to hide Delilah. So, Delilah settled for an alley way.

Her thoughts were interrupted by an announcement through the speakers.

"Good day, citizens. I am unsure if you are all aware of our guest arriving today, so let me put up some rules. There are to be no Yellows, Reds, Browns, or Oranges in the square while our visitor is looking for his wife. There is to be no contact unless you are asked by the Prince and there is to be no speaking to him unless you are asked. Consequences will be based on your class."

"They never said 'No blues'.

Therefore, Delilah put on her black jeans and a blue sweater that had been made by Sarah's mother, and her combat boots, the only shoes she had besides sneakers, and prepared to head out by sunset so she wasn't as visible.

Delilah added to her paintings on the wall, that were illegal as well. After she finished painting a snow mountain, she waited patiently. She was used to waiting, she did it her whole life. She waited for her Prince Charming, her family, and her freedom from this horrid place, but it never came.

Delilah didn't want to be the Prince's wife, she just wanted to see him for herself. Maybe she could make a friend of him. "No one likes me anyways, so there's no possible way that he could possibly like me."She thought out loud to herself.

After the sun fully set, she threw on her black coat and she headed out. She walked slowly past the library to take a look at the decorations set up for New Year. Delilah was excited for the new year. It meant she could sneak out while everyone was partying and hopefully escape Amable forever.

She walked in the library and went straight to the non-fiction section. She looked for a book about Blue's up-rise or the genocide, but there was nothing. 'Of course. Everyday I come in here and there still isn't one.' She wandered around library to different sections.
