6~Cupcakes and Kittens

Kylie's POV:

I close my locker door and look around for Lexi. I spot her at her locker with Hayley. Both of them are wearing the school's cheer leading uniform. I make my way to them. "Hey. Where were you this morning?" I ask Lexi.
"Sorry, Ky. I had early morning cheer leading practice because Friday there is a football match."
I nod as the school bell rings and we make our way to our first class. Lexi, Hayley, Annie and I all have the same classes until after lunch where we all split up.

I walk into biology and sit behind Lexi and Hayley. I look around for Annie I haven't seen her at all this morning.
"Hey, where's Annie at?" I ask Hayley. "Went to her dad. She'll be back soon." She says not giving much details.

I sit alone in blissful silence until I hear someone breathing next to me. I lift my head to look at the person and I give a questioning look.
"Can I help you?" I ask. The boy smiles as if I just gave him something valuable.
"No. But I can definitely help you. Come to think of it I'm helping you right now." He says while smirking. My hand starts to itch as I wish to slap the smirk off his face.

"How on earth are you doing me a favour right now?" I ask.
"Well you are kinda the class loner so me sitting next to you is elevating your status." I look at him in an "you gotta be kidding me" way. He winks at me.
"I hate you " I declare.
He chuckles," You're feisty. Like a kitten." I roll my eyes as the teacher walks in ending my conversation with this deranged lunatic.

The period is close to ending but the teacher left awhile ago so everyone is doing whatever they want. The deranged lunatic seated next to me turns and looks at me. I ignore him until his hand reaches out to poke my nose. I grab his finger.
"Seriously dude?" He laughs.
" I'm sorry kitty but you look to cute." I release his finger.
"I think we should stick to our real names. What is your name anyway?" I ask realizing I don't know a single thing about him.
"I'm Dylan."
"I'm Kylie."
"I don't think I'll ever use your real name kitty." He smiles.
"If I'm a kitten then you are a cupcake." He raises his eyebrows.

The bell rings signalling  for us to go to the next class. I get up and leave Dylan and walk behind Hayley. I look over my shoulder to see Dylan staring at me. He winks and I feel my cheeks go red.

I walk towards the cafeteria alone. Hayley and Lexi had to go to some meeting before lunch and I said I'll meet them in the cafeteria. I keep my head down avoiding unnecessary eye contact. I feel someone wrap their arm around my waist. I snap my head up and am greeted by a handsome smirking face.
Since when is Dylan handsome?
Since forever!
Shut up.

"Cupcake, let me go." I say eager to go to lunch.
"I'll only let you go if you come to the football game on Friday and the after party." He says the smirk never leaving his face.
"I'll come to the game but not the party. How do you plan an after party before the actual game. What if you lose?" I ask totally confused.
"Kitty. If you knew who was in the team you'd know we wouldn't lose. Please come, if you don't say yes I'll keep annoying you." I laugh.
"That's a very good look on you." I say while looking at him.
"What look. Is it the " I'm melting your heart" look?" I shake my head.
"No its the begging look. It suits you." I walk away from him and into the cafeteria. I spot my friends at a table and make my way to them.

I sit down and they all give me a weird look. I open my eyes wide.
"Uhmm guys please don't stare at me like I have a second head." "Are you and Dylan a thing? You'd look so cute together. We should figure out your ship name. I'm thinking Kylan. Or maybe..." I stop Hayley before she could create another ridiculous ship name.
"Dylan and I are not together. " A look goes from Lexi to Hayley.
"Are you sure. I mean you and him seem pretty close and he is cute-" I cut her off.
"He sat next to me today because Annie was not there. That's all."
"And in the hallway?"
"He asked me to come to the game and a party." As soon as the word party left my lips the girls got excited. Talking about outfits to wear and so forth. I let them keep talking until they started talking about what I am wearing to the party.
"Oh no no no ladies. I'm not going to the party." They looked at me in utter shock.
"Kylie! This is your first ever party you have been invited to. And you got invited by the hottest guy in school so please you are going." Lexi says.

I'm about to disagree when the bell rings ending lunch. We go our separate ways. I can't wait until after school because I'm going to try out for track team.

Many people don't know this but I live for track. Running sets me free. As if I am running away from all my problems. The wind in my face and the blood pumping through my body. It's an amazing feeling.

I get changed into my black and grey running gear and stretch out. There are so many people trying out today. I look over to the bleachers and see Hayley, Lexi and Annie.
She's back!!
They wave and I give a small smile.

The sports coach (coach Williams) places us into groups of six. My group will be competing third. I go to the side as the first group line up. Their race was fast but not as fast as I can run. The second race was a bit faster.

I get up and adjust the starting block. I take a deep breath and BANG. I'm off running as fast as I can. I can't see anyone in front of me but I don't slow down. I hear chanting from the bleachers. I keep running until I'm at the finish line. I stop and take deep breaths. Coach Williams walks towards me with  a big smile on his face.
"Hey kid. You were great out there. You're on the team. Practice on Monday and Wednesday. But you can practice whenever you want. Come order kit from me tomorrow." He pats me on the back and walks away.
I walk towards the changing rooms so I can get changed and leave. There is a bunch of girls standing by the entrance and I walk past ignoring them.

As soon as I'm changed I go to the bleachers looking for my friends. Someone picks me up and I scream not knowing what else to do.
"Kitty who knew you could run like that?" Dylan asks as he puts me down.
"Me. But I like to keep it a secret." He laughs and I walk away. I find my friends getting up to leave and we walk to my locker then finally leave the school.

I get home exhausted and all I wanna do is take a long shower but no... My dad has to be there for some unknown reason. I'm not in the mood for this...

Estoy feliz. I'm learning Spanish and I'm loving it.
