Kylie's POV:

This is gonna be the best day of my life...

I rolled over and switched off my alarm. The day has come! I guess I finally know how Anna from Frozen felt on her sister's coronation day. I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom to take a shower. I got out the shower and picked up my phone from my bed and called Lexi.
"The day has come!" I say in a sing song voice. Lexi chuckled.
"I don't think I have ever met someone who is so excited for school." I smiled even though I knew she couldn't see it.
"Gotta go lex. If I stay on the phone any longer I'll definitely be wearing jeans and a shirt today."
"You wouldn't dare. " she says before hanging up.

I look at the outfit we picked out last night and start getting changed into it. I took a mirror selfie and observed the pic. A black vest with a blue-ish green-ish skirt (worst description ever). I left my hair down and just brushed it. I applied a pink lipstick Lex got for me at the mall , grabbed my backpack and made my way downstairs .

Mom had left very early but said she would be back in the evening. Liam was eating fruit loops while typing on his phone.
I walked past him and ruffled his hair. He looked at me with an "oh no you didn't" expression on his face. I stuck out my tongue at him.

I heard a car horn outside and grabbed an apple while saying bye to Liam. I walked out my house to find Lexi in her car wearing shades. I climbed and put my bag in the back before giving her a hug.
"So are you ready to show these people what you made of?" Lexi asked me. I snorted.
"Lexi you acting like they did something bad to us and all these kids did was go to school. But to answer your question I am ready."
"Good, cause if you weren't I'd drag you down the hallways" she says while giving me a look and we both laugh.

The drive to school wasn't long and I could have walked but then I'd have to look for Lexi so I don't walk into school alone on my first day... Let's just say I'd rather not go through all of that.
We pull into the school's parking lot and look around before getting out. People look at Lexi and I smile to myself. She got attention by just walking into a room. I grabbed my bag and look at Lexi as she strolls to my side of the car and links our arms.
"Come on, let's find the administration office."she says while walking towards the main entrance of the school. At this moment I had a mini heart attack. At every school I have attended I was the shy, straight -A student who never missed class. Okay so I was a nerd but I loved it. Lexi has always been in the popular groups but she never ever forgot about me. At one school she insisted that I sit at the popular table with them because she wanted to talk to me.

At this school Lexi is trying to get me out of the nerdy bunch.
We walked into the building and conversations stopped as people looked at Lexi and I. I was about to look at the ground when I caught Lexi's eye. I held my head high and continued walking behind her. Someone wolf whistled and everyone went back to their previous conversations. The administration office was easy to locate. The women sitting behind the glass barrier thingy looked at us and smiled.
"How may I help you?"
"May we please get copies of the schools map and our timetables?" Lexi asked in her "I'm sweet" kinda voice.
"Of course sweetie. What are your names?"the lady asked
"Lexi Waters and Kylie Ross." The printer behind her started humming and 4 papers were printed. The lady handed them to Lexi.
"Thank you miss" I said as I looked down at the timetable.
"Oh just call me Jenny dear."
I gave her a quick smile and walked out the office behind Lexi.

Lexi stopped walking and looked at her timetable.
"My locker number is 23 and yours?" She asked. I scrunched my nose up." How do you even know that"
"Its written on top of your timetable." I looked at the sheet of paper. " Twenty eight " She started walking and I followed behind. We got to our lockers and they were pretty close to one another. First period was biology and second was math. I got those books out and walked to Lex.
"I have biology now." She raised her biology books to show me she had the same. We were a couple of minutes late for class but we didn't care.

Lexi's POV:

First and second period were okay. I sit next to Kylie in both classes. We are currently talking about try outs for different sports and activities when the bell rang for lunch. I get up and wait for Kylie. We walked to our lockers together. People were walking past us and talking loudly or laughing with their friends.
"Hey, are you Kylie Ross?" A girl with red hair and clear blue eyes asked. "Yeah." Kylie says shyly.
The girl smiled.
"I'm Annie, I wanted to invite you and your friend to lunch with my friend Hayley."

"Oh uhmm sorry but I was actually going to try out for cheerleading." I say apologetically to Annie." But I'm sure Kylie can come." She smiles and nods. I quickly hug Ky and wave bye to Annie as I make my way to the gym.

*3 hours later*

I made the team!!!!!Kylie, Annie and Hayley took me out after school to celebrate. Annie and Hayley are actually cool and really pretty. Hayley is on the team with me so at least there is one familiar person. We took so many pictures and I put my favorite one as my wallpaper

I'm at home waiting for my parents to arrive. A part of me is excited to share my news with them another is hesitant. What if they don't care? The front door opens and I get up. My mom and dad walk towards me.
"Hey mom. Hi dad" I say rather awkwardly. Okay give me a break I haven't seen my parents in about 2 months so I don't know how to act. My dad walked to me and gave me a hug.
"You grew." He said simply.
I chuckled. "Nope. But you shrunk." I say playfully. He kissed my forehead and looked at my mom before turning back to me.
"Lexi ,dear we have good news for you?" At this moment I was almost positive that they are going to just give me another useless gift when all I ever really want is their time.

"I'm taking early retirement." I looked at him weirdly at first. Then I realized that if he takes early retirement I'll be able to actually spend time with. I jumped up and down squealing.

"This is fantastic! I'll finally get to spend time with my parents" I say while hugging dad.
"Not exactly. " my mom said as she held my hand. I must have looked very confused cause she said " I'll still be working. Imagine me not working Lexi. It would be a disaster. What would I do? Bake cookies?" She says while laughing. I feel my heart rip into two. A tear trickled down my cheek.

I ran to my room and locked my door. My mom seriously doesn't wanna spend time with me. This sentence played over and over again in my head until I heard a knock on the door.
"Lexi open the door please" this was Trish. I groaned.
"So my parents sent you here because they couldn't be bothered to deal with a moody teenager.?" I asked her as I open my door.
"No. I sent her here cause I know you wouldn't open the door if I asked and we need to talk about you and your mom." He said standing next to Trish.
"Daddy can we do this tomorrow when I get back from school?" He nodded and walked away with Trish following close behind.

I lay in bed until I'm asleep. I so wish I didn't have to go to school.

Longest chapter I have ever written. I still have to edit. Anyways tell me how was your first day at a new school. Kylie and Lexi got it easy. Do you like Annie and Hayleyy. Vote and comment.
