KYLIE's POV:
"Dylan, stop stressing." I say as I put my hand on his shoulder. He grips the steering wheel tighter. I remove my hand from his shoulder and look out the car. It's so peaceful outside and there's a full moon.
We get to my house as Matthew and Daemon pull up with the rest of the squad. My mom comes rushing out the house, I'm guessing Lexi called her. She opens my door but I can't bring myself to get out the car. "Kylie... I hope you won't mind that I called your dad." She says in a whisper. I shake my head and Dylan opens his door to leave us but my body responds to that by grabbing his arm. "Don't leave me please." As I say this a single tear slides down my face.
He wipes the tear drop off my face and nods. "Maybe we should all head inside." My mom suggest and we do. I'm seated on a couch next to Dylan and all my friends are here as we sit in uncomfortable silence.
The door suddenly bursts open and my dad walks in looking worried as hell. Behind him with a very large stomach is The Hulk in all her glory. "Kylie, are you okay? Should I get you a bodyguard or homeschooling?" I get up and Dylan gets up as well since I won't release his hand. I give my dad a hug with one arm. "I'm okay dad, just a little scared." My dad notices Dylan by my side and a frown appears on his face.
"This is Dylan. My boyfriend." Hearing this word leave my lips is weird but then again Dylan deserves this title. Dylan eyes my dad and my dad does the same to him. "I'm not happy about this Kylie?" He says still staring at Dylan. "Well, I am so get used to it." I say and my dad looks at me.
"You'll watch how you talk to me young lady." I roll my eyes. "Don't be such a hypocrite dad. You left mom and did what you want but I can't be with the guy I like." The room becomes silent as I stare at my father. "Kylie calm down. You don't need this kind of stress right now, okay. How bout you go take a bubble bath to relax?" Dylan says making me look at him. I nod my head and my mom heads upstairs to run my bath for me. At about 8:37 my friends leave all except Dylan who I begged to stay.
My mom came back downstairs. "Your bath is ready." I am about to drag Dylan upstairs but my mom and dad stop me. "Kylie I support you relationship but Dylan is not joining you in the tub." I give my mom a look. "Mom, Dylan will be sitting upstairs on the other side of the door. Please. I need him close." She nods and my dad's frown grows.
We make our way upstairs and I give Dylan a quick hug as I close the door. I undress and get into the bathtub. "Dylan?" I say out loud. "Kylie? Are you okay?" I smile. "Yeah, I'm good. I just wanted to check if you didn't run away." He chuckles and after a while goes silent.
"Dylan can you make me a promise?" I say suddenly. "Yeah?" I take a deep breath. "Get security for yourself, get your dad involved." I could feel him tense on the other side of the door.
Quick back story:
Dylan has never really got along with his dad but really loved his mother, Diana, who was bipolar. His dad tried to keep him away from Diana by sending her on random trips when Dylan was not home. Locking her up in an apartment with a chef only. Dylan's mom committed suicide because she couldn't stand not seeing her baby. Since then Dylan hasn't had a proper conversation with his dad and hates him.So me asking Dylan to involve his dad here is bound to leave him in a bad mood. "Kylie. I can't...". I sit up in the water. "Yes you can, and you will because if there's one thing I know is that MJ is going to hunt you down like some small animal, torture you then make you watch as he takes me from my family and you. In the end he will kill you." I sigh and get out the water, put on a towel and open the door. He stands and I cup his face. "Promise me." I whisper. He nods and looks down. I give him a kiss on the cheek and go and get dressed. I return wearing a onesie and find Dylan laying on my bed.
"You look cute." He says looking at me. "You look comfortable." I walk to my bed and lay next to Dylan, burying my face in his chest. "Tell me about your mom." I whisper. He sighs loudly and I draw patterns on his chest. "She was beautiful, graceful, loving, kind and just full of life." He sighs and puts his hand in my hair. "She sounds so awesome." I say My head still on his chest. He stays quiet and still that I begin to think he has fallen asleep. "Every time I look at you, it's as if I'm looking at her. I know she would've loved you...". Dylan's voice breaks at the end and I look at his face and see tears in his eyes.
"Cupcake, it's okay to cry." I say as one tear rolls down his face. "I don't want you to see me cry." I get up from the bed, switch off the light and return to the bed. "You can cry now." I say into the dark. He chuckles and kisses my forehead. "Thank you Kitty." We stay like that, with my head on his chest, his arm around me making me feel the safest I have ever felt.
At some point in the night I guess I fell asleep. The heat from Dylan's body, his arm around me and the scent from his body had me feeling very comfortable.
When I finally wake up, I'm alone and I wonder when Dylan left. I get up and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I make my way downstairs and find my parents plus little brother having breakfast. "Good morning Kylie." I wave and sit down at the table. "Where is Dylan?" My mom asks as she piles up food on a plate and hands it to me. "He left after I fell asleep." I say and bite into my chocolate croissant. I give my dad a fake smile and his eyebrows knit together which makes me smile for real now.
After breakfast I head upstairs to take a shower and get dressed. The bruised I had on my sides caused by Ashly have started to fade. I get dressed in a pair of jeans, crop top and throw on Dylan's jacket that he left in my room. I run downstairs. "Woah! Where do you think you're going?" I look at my dad and sigh. "Seriously I don't have time for this dad. I need to go to my friends houses and warn them. Dylan needs me to get his dad to listen and Lexi wants to see me." He looks at me and suddenly hugs me tight. "I can't lose you Ky." I remove myself from the hug and look at him. "You won't. If you're so worried get a guard to accompany me." He nods and pulls out his phone.
After about six minutes a man in a black suit walks in and my dad gives him instructions. We leave the house and he drives me to a Starbucks. He orders and takes the seat in front of me as he hands me my coffee. "What's your name?" He looks around as if the old ladies on the right pose a major threat. "Rick. Why?" I raise my eyebrows at him. "You don't think it's weird that you have to know everything about me and my life but I don't even know your name?" He shrugs and I pull out my phone and I dial Dylan's number.
"Hello?" Whoever answered the phone was not Dylan.
"Uhh, hi. I'm looking for Dylan." I say nervously. "I'm sorry Miss but Dylan is with his father right now. I'll have him call you later?" At this my heart nearly stopped. He actually listened to me!!!
"Oh okay that's fine. Thank you." I hang up and Rick looks at me for a long time. "Stop that please." He shrugs once more and I get up. "Come on lets go see Lexi." He rises and we walk out. In the car Rick keeps to himself which gives me time to think.
I wonder what Dylan's dad is like? Is Lexi and all my other friends safe? What is MJ planning this time around?
