Big News... Part 1

A/N: So in this story Hiccup and Astrid have just started dating.

Also I just found out that Berk is a word used by british kids it means stupid! I can't stop laughing.

No ones POV

"Hey!" Astrid cried over the bickering gang as her and Hiccup entered the clubhouse.

"What?" Snotlout asked.

"Well... Uh... Astrid and I, we are together." Hiccup said as he rubbed the back of his neck with a slight blush creeping onto his cheeks.

"Well we can see that. You're standing next to each other." Tuffnut said from a headlock courtesy of Ruffnut.

"No, he means together together." Astrid said whilst she grabbed Hiccups hand in her own and rapped her fingers around his.

"Yay! This is so exciting!!!" Fishlegs and Heather cried.

"I must say cuz, I am surprised you got a girlfriend before me but I still have a shot, Right Astrid?" Snotlout said with a wink.

"Yeah Snotlout! Come here!" Astrid said as she motioned for Snotlout to come over to her and Hiccup. Once he made it over she grabbed his arm, twisted it behind his back, stepped on his left foot with all her force and then proceeded to flip him over himself and onto the floor.

"Anyway," Hiccup said in a slow tone as he looked down at the moaning Snotlout lying on the floor in a lot of pain. "Astrid and I need to go to Berk, does anyone need anything?" 

"Nope" They all said in unison. Each member of the gang exited the clubhouse one by one, passing they new couple on their way out. Everyone had past and now it was only Heather left. She gave a sly wink at Astrid and then proceeded to run at full speed towards Hiccup, axe at the ready. 

"If you hurt her Haddock, I will use this axe to chop you into little pieces and feed them to Toothless. Clear?" She whispered to the scared Haddock boy.

"Crystal." He managed to squeak out. Astrid was standing next to the boy and started laughing while pulling Heather back a bit by the shoulder.

"Hey, Heather you now that Hiccup always catches me. He saved me from the Scurge Of Odin so I don't think there is anything to worry about."

"I know, I know, it was just kinda funny watching the fear in his eyes grow as I headed towards him." Hiccup was still frozen with fear and not really paying any thought to the girls conversation. 

"Bye Heather!" Astrid said as she waved off her best friend. Only then did she notice her friend, wait, boyfriend still standing there. She grabbed his hand again and went in and kissed him really quickly on the lips bringing him out of his trance.

"Come on scardey cat, we gotta get to Berk." 

Hiccup shook his head and said okay and then the new love birds were off towards Berk.

They sat in a comfortable silence for a while when Hiccup decided to brake it.

"I hate viking tradition!"

"Why?"

"Well, it states that I have to tell your parents--"

"Yeah, thats why we are going to Berk is it not?"

"Yes I know that, what I'm saying is that I have to tell your parents, without you there." Hiccup said with a shiver.

"Hey! My parents aren't that scary!" The shield maiden said.

"Astrid, think about how scary you were to me when we were like 14."

"Ok,"

"And triple it."

"Oh,"

Astrid started again "Well if it makes you feel any better, I have to tell Stoick the Vast that I am dating is one and only son and heir to the throne of Berk. So I think you'll do fine." She said with a bit of playfulness in her tone.

"Okay we need a plan. Before we go and tell our parents you need to give me a kiss incase your parents kill me. Then I will tell your parents, and then you can tell Dad and then we can both go and tell Gobber."

"Ok sounds like a plan!"

"Oh and knowing my dad, he is going to through a celebration in the great hall. So, yeah," Hiccup said with another rub of the neck. He had a strange feeling that he was going to do a lot of that today.

---------Time Skip---------

The couple landed on a busy Berk and made their way over to Astrid's house. Astrid grabbed a shaking Hiccup's hand and soothed him.

"Okay, give me a kiss and if I don't come back alive I will see you in valhalla." He said. He then turned around and cupped Astrid by the cheek and kissed her with passion.

Hiccup let go of Astrid's hand and proceeded to knock on the door. He heard a faint "come in" so he entered. It was very dark but he could see a room with light peaking through the door so he knocked on that one as well which brought him to the kitchen of Astrid's house. He looked around and saw Astrid's Mum, Ingrid sitting on a chair sharpening her axe and her Dad, Gunnar sitting on a stool near their kitchen bench, sharpening a sword. Hiccup gulped.

"Um, hi," He said with a small wave in a very awkward tone.

"Hello lad, what brings you here?" Gunnar said as he looked up from he sword. Ingrid looked up as well.

"Well, Astrid and I have come back to Berk with some news, and Viking tradition says that this is a mandatory step in revealing the news. So, I have come here to tell you that, uh..."

"Spit it out boy!" Ingrid said in a soft(ish) tone.

"I asked your daughter last night if she would be my girlfriend." He said quite fast and in one quick breathe while he watched the divine beauty's parents expressions change, though they were quite hard to decipher.

"So you're telling me that Hiccup, hero of Berk as asked our Astrid to be his girlfriend?"

"Ummm... Yes, I think?" He said the last part under his breathe.

"This," Ingrid started.

"is," Gunnar

"amazing!" They both said in time. Hiccup let out a breath that he didn't know he was holding as he braced for impact as both parents came running towards him for a hug. They brought him in for a hug and they did crush some of his bones but he thought that it best not ruin the mood.

They sent Hiccup on his way and Hiccup laid eyes on Astrid. She looked at him with those beautiful blue orbs with a questioning glance and he gave her the thumbs up. Astrid run up and showered him with kisses. Then she stopped and turned her head to look at something off in the distance. Hiccup realised it was his house. He grabbed her hand and they began walking.

"It will be fine. You just need to stand your ground and it will be fine." Hiccup said to Astrid as she entered the house.
