The Nerdy and The Cold Princess

Mae's  POV

I just watched Theone sleeping, the nurse' said that she has a fever. Dinala daw siya dito ng isang lalaki na inaapoy ng lagnat, I wonder who is that boy. I should've thank him for bringing my best friend here.

The doctor said she'll stay here for about 24 hours. Pano kung hanapin 'to ni Nanay Eva? Tawagan ko kaya? Ano namang sasabihin ko?

'Hello, 'Nay Eva nasa ospital po si Theone.' Mali, pangit pano kung biglang mag hesterical yun mahirap na.

'Hello, 'Nay Eva ahm...ano po kasi...ahm...nasa ospital po si Theone.' Mali pa din. Pangit. Parang di ako marunong magsalita.

'Hello, 'Nay Eva sa mags-sleep over po sa bahay si Theone.' Tama! Tama yan 'yung sasabihin ko.

Tumawag ako sa bahay nila Theone, ilang ring lang may sumagot.

"Hello." Sabi ng nasa kabilang linya I guess si Ate Yam yung nasa kabilang linya.

"Hello, Ate Yam. Paki sabi po kay Nanay Eva di po makakauwi si Ysabella diyan. Mags-sleepover po siya sa bahay." Habang sinasabi ko 'yan naka cross fingers ako hoping na hindi sila magtaka.

"Sige sabihin ko. 'Yun lang ba?" Ate Yam said.

"Opo. Thank you Ate Yam, Bye." I said as I ended the call. Lunch na pero di pa din gumigising 'tong si Theone, makabili na nga muna ng makakain nagugutom na ko.

~Ysa's POV~

As I open my eyes all I can see is white. Where am I? Am I in the hospital? Iniikot ko ang paningin ko at tama nga ako nasa ospital ako. Who brings me here? And suddenly I remember what happen earlier.

~Flashback~
I tried to stand up but I can't napaupo ulit ako. I massage my temple, and decided to stand up again but I just really can't. I just felt I'm with someone's arms, I can't recognize all I know is that he's a boy. And asked him...

"Who are you?" And with that everything went black.

~end of flashback~

Mag-isa ko lang dito sa kwartong 'to, it's kinda boring. After quite some time the door opens, nakatitig lang ako sa pinto ng iluwa niya si Mae. Hays, it's my best friend.

"Gising ka na pala." She said as he walk towards me.

"What do you think? Tss." I said and rolled my eyes. Gosh! Common sense.

"Ikaw nga tigil-tigilan mo ko sa pagiging suplada mo. Pasalamat ka may sakit ka. Kundi naku!" As if namang magte-thank you ako kay Mae. We're always like this. Nagbabangayan lagi pero magbest friends pa din.

"How'd you know that I'm here?" I said not looking at her. For sure we'll fight again, I'm just controlling myself.

"Someone just told me earlier that you're here. You wanna eat?" She said as she put out the foods she bring.

"Lugaw." As I said it, I'm not comfortable in using tagalog I find it odd since I started being cold princess. Nanay Eva said that when you're sick you have to eat 'Lugaw' or any kind of soup, it can help to make you sweat and making you sweat can help to cool down your temperature.

"What? Can you repeat it? I didn't hear it clearly." Mae said as if she did not hear it clearly, don't me Mae I know you just wanted to hear me saying tagalog words.

"I know you heard me loud and clear, Mae." I said, she's teasing me. I'm not comfortable enough to speak tagalog whenever I'm talking. Yeah, I speak tagalog when talking to someone but once in a blue moon.

"Oo na, talo na ko. Hetong LUGAW na hinihingi mo." Mae said emphasizing the word 'Lugaw'. She looks at me with her teasing smile. The hell I care.

'I just gave her my smirk. I'm not scared with your teasing smile. Ni minsan hindi ka pa nanalo sakin A. You always lose.' I was saying that in my mind. I was busy eating my food, when I remember Nanay Eva.

"Did you told Nanay Eva that I'm here?" I said as I pause eating my food and look at her.

"Nah. I just told her that we're having a sleepover at our house." She said not looking at me busy on her phone.

"Good." And I continue eating my food.

After awhile one nurse get inside and gave me my medicine.

"How you doing Ms. Smith?" The nurse said while checking something I don't even know.

"Fine." I said and with that the nurse looks at me confused.

"What she meant is, she's fine.

Matipid pong magsalita yang best friend ko, ganyan lang po talaga siya." Mae said looking at me back to the nurse.

The nurse just gave a smile and in return I gave my cold stares.

"Ok, I'll check you later ulit Ms. Smith." And the nurse finally leave the room.

I was about to sleep again when Mae said anything out of the blue.

"Theone, kilala mo ba kung sino nagdala sayo dito? We should've thank him for bringing you here." She said looking at me, she walk towards me and hopped at the bed beside me. Kasya kaming dalawa dito sa hospital bed na 'to so, it's ok.

"I didn't recognize him. All I know is that he's a boy." That's it, 'yun lang naman talaga ang alam ko.

"We should have thank him" She said.

"As if. If you wanted to thank him then go thank him, I'm not coming with you." I said.

"Theone, hanggang kailan bang ganito?" She asked out of nowhere.

"What do you mean?" I pretend.

"Theone, don't pretend na hindi mo alam kung tungkol saan ang sinasabi ko. I know you know what I mean." Mae said. I can't figure out her face, Worried? Angry? Sad? I don't know.

"Time heals right? Let the time heal the pain." I said with my cold voice.

"2 years had past, Theone. Hindi pa ba sapat 'yun?"

"You want me to answer that damn question?"

"Yes, please."

"No."

"Theone, you have to let go. I'm sure Kevin won't be glad if he sees you like this. Mahihirapan lang siya pati na rin ikaw."

"I can't let go, Mae. I don't know where to start. I don't even know how to forgive and forget. I don't even know why is that all I can feel is pain and anger." I said and this time my voice is raising.

"Why?" Mae asked this time she look sad.

"I'm not loved like you, Mae." And with that my voice was about to crack but I have to control it.

"You're loved, Theone. Hindi mo lang alam kasi hindi ka pa nagle-let go. Maraming nagmamahal sayo, Theone." She said with her sad voice.

"Who are they?" I said while my voice is trying her.

"By me, by Nanay Eva, by Kuya Neil, by our school mates and by your parents."

I look at her with my questioned face.

"By our school mates? And PLEASE don't include my parents. They love their bullshit business than me." Emphasizing the word 'please'.

"Oo, buong school ang nagmamahal sayo. Umaasa sila na sana isang araw bumalik na yung dating Ysabella Theone Harrison Smith. Matagal na kaming umaasa na bumalik ka sa dati, lahat kami miss na ang dating Ysabella. Lahat kami mahal na mahal ka, hindi mo lang talaga kayang buksan yang puso mo. At oo, mahal ka din ng parents mo." Mae said. She was about to cry, when I stopped her.

"I don't know, Mae. I'm tired." As I said that I lay down and cover my face with a blanket. Hinayaan ko nalang si Mae, wala naman patutunguhan 'tong usapan na 'to. Ilang beses na naming napag usapan 'to, wala namang nangyayari. Maybe, Mae is right. But, I just can't.
