I tossed and turned in bed trying to find a comfortable position to fall asleep in. it didn't help. I looked out the windows and admired the view of what became a good friend of mine, the huge grayish bright circle hanging in the sky, and the silhouette of the tress covering the bottom of the view.

I walked up to my window and looked for a sign of entertainment but found none. I sighed and climbed out the window, deciding to go out for a late night walk.

dad won't be too pleased if he knew i was out this late. I pushed the thought of getting caught aside, I really couldn't care less.

I unconsciously walked around my neighborhood and ended up in a park that wasn't too far away from home. an abandoned bench that was located at the beginning of the park awaited my presence.

my back given to the park, I watch a few passing cars that all soon disappeared. there was no sign of life.

my eyes were glued to the sky, I stared at the  infinite amount of stars shining brightly. the sky at night was something everyone underestimated heavily. till this day I wonder how people fall fast asleep without admiring the stars and moon.

I thought of calling Michael to company me like he sometimes does but ended not doing so when I thought about the amount of sleep he gets.

i was snapped out of my thoughts when i heard the trees' fallen leaves being crunched and footsteps approaching me from the side.

in split seconds my heart began hammering, a figure made it's way to me.

our eyes met for a millisecond until I moved my gaze from his eyes to the ground. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding when he passed by.

before I can process what was happening the person took two large steps backwards and sat beside me

"Isabelle?" I gave a frightened look which was obvious because of what happened next

"it's me, Ashton. sorry for seeming like a serial killer, I would've put my hoodie down and stopped by right away but I didn't realize it was you till I walked pass you"

"well I'm glad to hear I'm that easy to remain unnoticed" I said while faking a laugh, trying to cover the 7 mini heart attacks I just had.

"pretty sure that's the last thing you are Isabelle" he said while empathizing the word last by raising his eyebrows.

at that moment, I was thankful for the dark night and broken street light because I was blushing.

that was sweet of him to say, if I understood it correctly of course
