The Maiden and the Wolf---- *A Fantasy Romance Story*

*Chapter 16*

Dakota POV

"Do you know who I am?" bellowed the Led Reaper.

"Should I?" I snarled back.

"I am the Black General Valcaro and you will regret the day that you ever laid eyes on me!"

"Believe me I already do," I snorted.

The fire still burned in the Reapers eyes; they wanted to fight me, to make my look like a fool. There was no way to avoid it and I didn't want ever.

I snarled to the wolves to stay back unless I need them and drew both of my swords and raised them into a guard position. Glancing at Locke still spiralled on the ground he gave a short nod and I turned back seeing four Reapers between me and their Leader.

"Come on then!" I challenged, standing legs far apart.

They charged me; I lashing out falling on one knee as I did I sliced my right sword at one of the Reaper's cutting him down instantly. His blood spattered everywhere.

Standing up, I parried another sword with my left one, grabbing the Reaper shoulder and shoved him into another his sword driving into the other Reaper's stomach, I plunged my right sword into the off balanced Reaper's back. The two fell into a bleeding heap.

I spun around, chopped the final Reaper's sword arm with my right sword; bringing up my other as I did slicing his neck open and blood sprayed in every direction.

Straightening up I stared hard into the shocked face of Valcaro, the remaining other Reaper's were gapping at me, some taking a few steps back others glancing at one another.

Valcaro raised his arm and I saw his lips move, I wasn't fast enough to stop the magic hitting me.

The sword in my right hand suddenly grew white hot, burning my skin.

I yelped, dropping it and started down at my blistering palm and fingers.

Anger flooded me as I heard Valcaro laugh; quickly I reached for the magic inside of me, cooling my hand and raising shelters around myself.

I stuck my foot under my fallen sword, glancing up so check were he was then flicked my foot and my sword leaped into the air and I caught it by the hilt. Spinning round to get the momentum behind it I throw the sword straight at Valcaro's head.

The blade made a whooshing sound as it cut through the air then straight into Valcaro's face only he had turned just in time. The blade cut deep into his cheek and severed one of his ears but didn't kill him. My throw was so powerful that the sword carried on after cutting Valcaro to strike another unexpected Reaper in the chest killing him.

The wolves around me snarled and leapt forwards, Sefka and Lope knocked the Reaper who was holding Locke to the ground and sank their teeth into him. The others finished off the last two other Reapers.

Valcaro had fallen to the ground, his horse galloping off into the forest, I growled at the wolves to stay away from him.

I sheaved one of my swords as I marched towards Valcaro who was pulling himself along with his arms, his leg broken from the fall.

I stabbed my sword into his leg and he cried out, no remorse showed on my face just anger and revolution.

"Are you going to kill me?" Valcaro voice shook as I turned him over with my sword.
