Jack Frost

It's been nine years since I promised to look after princess Elsa. Nine years of watching her grow. To be honest it seems a bit stalkerish and I've been on the receiving end of Bunnymund's jokes ever since I agreed to do this, but I don't mind. It's fascinating to watch and see another person who possesses the same powers I do.

I float outside their window as her mother reads to her and her little sister, Anna. Elsa's platinum blond hair hangs down her back in a simple plait, her icy blue eyes fixed at her mom. She looks absolutely interested in what her mother is reading to them. Anna, in contrast, is much more giddy. She jumps in place, her strawberry blonde pigtails swishing with her movement.

It has always been this way for the last nine years. Their mother would read them a bedtime story. Then she would tuck them in their own beds and kiss them goodnight. It is their routine, and I've basically been watching the same thing every night but I never get tired of it.

I'd never admit it to anyone but I like the sense of warmth this scene provides. It reminds me of my family

The queen got Elsa to believe in me, but she's never really seen me. Or more like I never shown myself to her. But every night, she would ask her mother to tell her more stories about me, and how I would always protect her. Protect her from the bad people who would want to steal her powers.

Her powers.

Her ability to control ice and snow just like me. And for a ten year old, she was pretty strong. But she had a hard time controlling it.

I want to train her now. Because I can see just how hard it is for her to try and control her powers. How hard it is to keep it at bay. How hard it is to be constantly reminded not to use them or else someone might get hurt, like what she accidentally did to Anna.

I can see it in her eyes; how badly she wanted to control her power. At times, she would even call herself a monster. She would get frustrated of her 'curse'.

I tried to convince her parents to let me teach her; train her. But they said my job was to protect her.

But they don't know that I am trying to protect her. I'm trying to protect her from hurting herself.
