My heart was racing and my head was pounding. I could feel dampness on my forehead and neck, but shivers took over me.

My hearing perked up by the sound of whispering. My heart raced even faster, if that was possible, all of a sudden I felt out of breath.

Where they back?

My eyes sprung open in attempt to get rid of the sound, my long nails pinched onto the skin on the back on my left hand as my chest heaved up and down.

Just then my head turned to the left, there were 3 people in my room, 2 in blue tops and Ashton. I rose from my laying position and moved as far away from them. My back hit the freezing wall as I stared at the people, who only stared back.

"You're okay dear" the woman in blue spoke softly. I only stared at her.

That's what he said.

"We need to check if your health is on track Scarlet, you haven't been to the doctors in a while" the man in blue spoke up.

I glanced at Ashton, his curly, dirty blonde hair flopped down onto his face as he remained quiet. With a small nod, I shuffled slightly towards the two people.

With every touch I flinched, the whole time I was ready to run if anything happened. Ashton kept his eyes on me the whole time, every now and then I'd glance back into his hazel eyes.

"Okay Scarlet, we're going to need to take a blood sample" the lady spoke as she took out a needle.

My eyes widened as my chest tightened. I found myself shaking my head furiously as I began shuffling back and pulled my sleeves down my hands. Just then I realised that I was in a grey hoodie that I didn't own, it was huge and radiated the smell of a strong smell of male.

My eyes casted onto Ashton who took long strides towards the nurses and mumbled a few quick words, which resulted them in nodded and shuffling out of the door, letting it click shut.

Ashton looked down at my petit body that held my knees against my chest.

"They only want to see if you're okay Scarlet" he whispered softly.

I sniffled slightly and pulled - what I assumed - Ashton's sweater around me tighter, enjoying the new found warmth.

"I am okay" I croaked staring up at him. His eyes were more defined that when he was on the other side of the room. I could see his light stubble and messy eyebrows which complemented his edgy look, the contours of his face were visibly complicating his face.

"Scarlet.."

I shook my head vigorously.

"Is it the needle?" He asked sitting on the edge of the bed.

I stayed quiet as my vision casted down on my hand which was submerged in the sleeve of the hoodie.

"You don't have to if you don't want to" I looked up at him as he smiled slightly.

"Thank you" I whispered, Ashton nodded before standing up and walking towards the door.

Soon as the nurses packed up and left, it was Ashton and I. The fear from before slowly began to wear off, but I was still cautious.

"Do you want anything to eat? You're really pale" Ashton asked after minutes of dead silence. I simply shrugged, not looking up.

"Pizza?"

I hadn't had pizza in god knows how long. The last time I had it, I remember sitting by the TV with my parents. When they were around.

I smiled slightly at the memory before looking up at Ashton and nodding. He whipped out his phone and dialled a number.

I looked around my room, with every word that Ashton let out, a small cloud of mist blew out of his mouth. I slowly stood up off of the bed and walked towards the window, I have no idea when the last time I looked out of this. I glanced out, the moon was high in the sky and cars drove by. People walked by and cyclists rode alongside the cars. It'd been years since I've been down there.

I brought my shaking arms up and with one swift movement I pulled down the window.

There was something on the window. A pale looking girl. Her eyes were tired and her iris was black, the bags under her eyes were evident. Her lips were a light blue colour from the temperature of the room, her long black hair fell way past her shoulders lifelessly. She was skinny and dead looking.

That girl was me.
