I looked placed my pencil down onto the table and looked at ticking clock. It was about to hit 2:30.

Ashton was going to arrive in half an hour.

I ran my left hand through my hair, checking if it had dried. After the satisfaction of my hair I walked towards my wardrobe. I pulled out a stripy sweater and some leggings. Within a minute my clothes were on.

I glanced down at my feet before moving towards my wardrobe again and pulling out a pair of pale pink shoes I had never worn.

I sat on my chair and pulled them on before standing up.

I made my way into my bathroom as I stared at the towel covered mirror.

Do I really need to?

I sighed deeply moving away and walking back into my room. It had only been 10 minutes since I checked the time last.

Taking a seat back onto the chair, I took the pencil into my mouth and thought about what to draw.

Just then my hands worked magic as I etched out an outline. A sharp knock on my door sent my pencil scratching the paper with a harsh line. I bit down on my lip glancing at the thick line I just created.

I pushed myself up off of the chair and put my ear to the door.  I heard deep breathing.

The knock echoed through my room again, vibrating my head as it was against the door. I took a quick glance at the clock, 3 o'clock.

Was it Ashton?

"Scarlet, it's Ashton" his voice called out.

I sighed in relief before slowly unlocking the door to be greeted by the curly haired man.

Ashton was wearing skin tight black jeans along with a black t-shirt under a hoodie.

"Hey, you look amazing" he beamed.

I smiled as I looked down at my feet. I could feel my cheeks turning red as my stomach started to feel uneasy. This feeling was foreign to me.

"Let's go" he took a step back.

I look a deep breath before walking out of my door for the first time in years. I shut the door behind me before looking around the hall. It had changed quiet a lot since the last time I've seen it. The once mucky walls were not a burgundy colour matching the dark carpets. There were various photographs on the walls which made it look homey.

I slowly followed Ashton's tall figure to the lift where we waited. Ashton looks down at me with a huge smile plastered on his face.

"How do you feel?" He asked.

"We're not really outside yet.." I shrugged as he let out a little giggle which I found myself smiling at.

Just then the lift opened as various people shuffled out making me move closer to Ashton. I sighed in relief as none of those people made contact with me.

"You have nothing to worry about" Ashton reassured as he placed hand on the small of my back making me flinch slightly before relaxing. I walked into the lift with Ashton following closely.

The lift was quiet, all that was heard was the clicking of Ashton freakishly large fingers. Just then the lift opened, only to reveal many more people.

I sucked in a sharp breath as my eyes widened.

I felt Ashton's arm wrap around my shoulder as he whispered in my ear "you're okay, nothing's going to happen to you" he reassured as he slowly led me out.

Ashton led me around the people and towards the revolving door before looking at me.

"Ready?" He asked with a wide smile.

I thought for a moment.

Do I want to do this? Thoughts ran through my head. Was I really going to accept it?

"I-I- no" I shook my head not taking my eyes off of the glass door that separated me from the outside world.

"You'll be fine" Ashton assured as he placed a hand on the small of my back attempting to give me a tiny push if encouragement, though I wasn't having it. My heel pushed down on the bright red carpeted floor, stabilising my position.

"Ashton, stop" I demanded sternly moving away from his hold.

I looked down at my shoes. I can't do this, I'm not ready to move on. I promised myself that I would never move on.

"You'll be okay Scar, trust me" Ashton spoke with concern held in his voice.

I simply shook my head and took off towards the lift. Thankfully the lift had opened just as I got there, Ashton was close behind me. As the doors started sliding to a close I sighed in relief that Ashton had not gotten in.

"What floor?" I head a masculine voice sending my in a sudden jolt of surprise. I simply took a few steps back until my back hit the wall of the lift.

"Well?" He asked with impatience taking over his voice, it was all to familiar.

"5th floor" I whispered.

He pressed the button before mumbling something about manners under his breath.

After what seemed like forever, my heart was racing as I ran out of the lift towards my door only to halt so suddenly.

Ashton was leaning against my door with his hands shoved in his pockets.

"Took you long enough, love" he giggled.

"But how-" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Stairs" he pointed towards the end of the hall.

Only Jesus would be able answer how he climbs the stairs so fast. I simply shrugged it off before turning the handle of the door only to have the door remain still. I tried again. No use.

"Keys" I muttered under my breath as I ran my hand through my hair.

God, was I stupid. How does one who lives alone forget her keys?

My mind was frantic as my breathing quickened. Where am I going to stay?

"Hey, it'll be okay. We'll just go talk to the lock smith, they'll be able to unlock it for you" Ashton reassured as he placed a hand on my shoulder only having my flinch away.

I nodded as I followed him towards the lift.

God, was I stupid.
