Chapter 13

Skye's POV

He lifted me up in the air and tossed me into the water soon following after me. The water wasn't too cold but it wasn't exactly warm either. I lifted my head out of the water and tried to see where Grant had gone. All of a sudden I felt strong arms wrap around me and pick me up.

"Grant!" I squealed. "Put me down!" I said giggling.

"You want me to put you down?" he asked sounding very confused of why I would want that. "Okay," he said shrugging and dropping me back down onto the water.

I break the surface once more and glare at Grant. "Ooh I am soo getting you back!" I yell as I chase after him.

He is definitely a lot faster than me at swimming but I won't give up. Finally he stops and turns to face me. Of course me being me I don't notice him stopping and end up crashing into him. He picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist to keep from falling. His arms go around my waist and they pull me closer to him. I lean in touching our foreheads, he moves his head to the crook of my neck where I can feel his breath fanning out over my neck. He moves his head up to meets my lips. We just stay there kissing for a while until we both break away for air.

"We should get out and dried off before I bring you home," he says leading me over to the dock and helping me out.

We make a fire and sit by it for a little as we dry off and get warmer. I look over to see Grant looking to his watch.

"What time is it?" I ask him sleepily.

"Nearly 10:30," he answers. "We should get going," he says pulling me to my feet.

I quickly get dressed and collect all of my stuff. On our walk back up to his bike we see a trash can so we throw all of the trash from dinner away. I get up behind him on the bike and he takes off. Soon enough we arrive back at my house and Grant parks in the driveway. We get off the bike and he walks me to the door.

"Thank you," I murmur against his neck. "This was perfect."

He kisses me once before telling me goodnight. I walk into the house, almost forgetting that Jemma is still here until she comes barreling down the stairs.

"Well, how was it!?" she asks with excitement.

I laugh and begin to tell her all about it.

After I've told her everything about our date we decide to watch a movie. We decided on Mulan cause why the hell not. I make some popcorn and hot chocolate for us as we sit on the couch and start the movie.

When the movie is over we decide to go to sleep seeing as its getting late. We go up to my room and get into the warm bed. We decided to share the bed cause we're friends so it's cool. I was exhausted so I instantly fell asleep.

In the morning everything seemed so much brighter.  I went downstairs with Jem and we ate breakfast in silence. Eventually she turned to look at me.

"Why are you smiling so much?" she asks.

"I don't know," I answer shrugging my shoulders. "Does it really matter?"

"I like that he makes you happy," she says smiling at my from across the counter.

I just smile in return. I'm glad he makes me happy too. After we finish cleaning up, the front door opens and Mel and AC walk in.

"Where were you two?" I ask as they sit at the counter and grab a bite to eat.

"I had a late shift so he came to pick me up," she says  pointing towards AC.

"Anyways how was your night?" AC asks gesturing at me and Jem .

She looks over at me with a sly smile coming over her lips. "Oh you know it was good. We watched a movie, had some popcorn, Skye went on a date but other than it was pretty uneventful."

I gave Jem my best death glare as I turned to see what Mel and AC would say. I carefully looked over them one at a time to try and gauge their reactions.

"With who?" Mel asked raising an eyebrow.

I turned a dark shade of red as I said his name. "Grant," I say with a weak smile.

"The boy who you saw kissing another girl during school!" He exclaims surprised.

"Why would you ever go out with him after he hurt you?"

"Yesterday after you left we went to the beach and I saw him there. He came up to me and apologized, and I forgave him."

"He wanted to take me out and I said yes. He makes me happy."

Mel just gave me a look, "alright if he makes you happy and if you really have forgiven him."

"I really do like him." I said with a
small smile dancing across my lips.
