"Draco, don't forget that without my sister you have nothing." Astoria said breaking the silence.Draco rolled his silvery blues and turned his back to Astoria, awaiting for Mr. Huff and Daphne.
"This is a sugar coated arranged marriage, so get in her pants if you want to get into Godfather's."
"Astoria, what is my buissness of any concern to you?" Draco kept his eyes front, staring absentmindedly on the stairs before him.
Today Daphne and Draco were to join Mr. Huff at the Ministry. Ever since the war muggles had become more aware of the wizarding world and it seemed the department was lacking the skill to fix this, so Daphne and Draco were to help him determine who was to be let go for their lack of work. It wasn't necessarily what Draco had envisioned himself doing when he was younger, but things had changed in a matter of years, because of the war. Draco honestly didn't think he was going to survive it, so anything he did was sort of a blessing that he was even alive at all to be doing this.
Astoria crossed her arms agitated by his attitude, trying very hard not to come off younger than she was because she knew Draco thought less of her because of her age.
"It's not, its Daphne's. You're father has recently made reputationable talk in the Ministry, and people still fear him. To have his son also work in the Ministry? And also be in love with a Department Head's goddaughter? You two will rise to the top, but only united."
Draco couldn't figure out why Astoria thought it her mission to help him with his situation. He was very capable of doing things on his own, his actions in the war proved that, and everyone knew what Draco Malfoy was capable of; then and now. He didn't need an 18 year old girl to tell a 23 year old man how to run his life, he had too many post-war emotions doing that for him already.
"And what of you and Theo? Don't you worry about your own arrangement?" Draco interjected, rolling his eyes as his patience was put to the test.
Astoria dismissed his question with a wave of her hands, dramatically, and almost sneered at the mention of her own similar problem."No, because our purpose is to keep the sacredness of the twenty-eight. Yours is to be king and queen of the wizarding world."
"Your mind thinks interestingly."
"Well I am a Slytherin. Being creative and have individuality are the traits."
Astoria turned her body front, arms crossed over her chest, and staring idly at the stairs before her. Draco glanced at her then, noticing the slight sadness that dulled the light blue color in her eyes suddenly.
