~Savannah’s POV~
I looked up at Liam, my eyes wide.
“R-r-really?” I asked, trying to control my tears. He nodded, wiping my tears away, and I hugged him. “Thank you, thank you, thank you so, so, so much.”
“Come on,” the boy wearing stripes said. “We gotta fill out the paperwork.” I pulled away from Liam and followed the boys down the stairs and to the main area.
“Oh good, there you are! Have you-” The owner cut herself off when she saw me. If looks could kill, I’d be dead ten times over. I stepped behind Liam to hide from the glare. “Savannah, what did I tell you about staying upstairs in your room?!”
“Actually, mam, I went to her,” Liam said. “She’s the one we want to adopt.”
“Are you being serious?” one of the older girls said. “She’s nothing but a slutty, bitchy, good for nothing lunatic who sits in her room all the time playing with that stupid instrument of hers! We literally have to drag her out of her room to get her to do things around here!” I hid more behind Liam, and he looked down. Obviously he could see the fear I had, because he looked at the other girl.
“She is none of those things,” he growled menacingly at them. “And gee, I wonder why she’s in her room all the time. Is it because of you guys, who do nasty things to her?” They stepped back, their eyes full of surprise at his tone. The boys looked surprised as well. Maybe this was a side that rarely/never showed. He looked at the owner. “Now, if we could just fill out the papers and we’ll be on our way.” The owner sighed and nodded, leading them to the front counter. I was about to follow them when someone wrapped an arm tightly around my stomach to make sure I couldn’t breathe, put one of their hands over my mouth and dragged me to the living room. They threw me to the ground and Darren, the eldest boy, sat on me, which caused me to struggle to breathe.
“This is your goodbye present, bitch,” he laughed. He lit a cigarette, took a breath, blew it on my face since I was coughing and trying to breathe, and pressed the cigarette to my arm. He put his hand over my mouth as I screamed, and everybody around us laughed. He kept taking breaths, blowing them on me and burning me, moving the cigarette towards my stomach. He burned me until footsteps could be heard. They all moved away, and I just layed there, trying to stop crying. I heard a set of gasps, and people kneeling down beside me.
“Savannah?” I heard Liam’s voice say. I struggled to look at him, and he picked me up.
“Come on, we’re leaving,” Louis said. I just cried into his chest. Liam carried me outside, and I felt him get into a vehicle. I looked up at him through my tears.
“I-I-I forgot 2 things in there,” I said quietly. “I-I need to g-get my g-guitar and n-notebook.”
“I’ll get Harry to run inside and get them,” he said. “Harry?”
“Got it,” the curly haired boy said. He got out and headed back inside. Now I know his name.
“Savannah, were those kids doing something to you?” the blonde one asked softly, sitting across from me and leaning forward. I leaned into Liam and nodded, letting the ratsnest that I call hair fall in my face so I could hide. I felt some leave my face, and I looked up to see the blonde boy tucking it behind my right ear. He looked at me with concern on his face, and I couldn’t help but hug him.
“Thank you,” I said. “Thank you so, so much. You don’t know how much getting away from there means to me.” He hugged back, and then the door opened again. I looked up to see my guitar case and notebook in Harry’s hands. I made my way out of the vehicle and hugged him tightly, taking him by surprise.
