~Savannah's POV~

I sat down at the piano while Taylor and Niall sat on the couch. I made sure the door was locked, and had to double check with Niall that the boys were out, and I started playing.

You should've been there
Should've burst through the door
With that 'baby I'm right here' smile
And it would've felt like
A million little shining stars had just aligned
And I would've been so happy

Christmas lights glisten
I've got my eye on the door
Just waiting for you to walk in
But the time is ticking
People ask me how I've been
As I comb back through my memory
How you said you'd be here
You said you'd be here

And it was like slow motion
Standing there in my party dress
In red lipstick
With no one to impress
And they're all laughing
As I'm looking around the room
But there's one thing missing
And that was the moment I knew

And the hours pass by
Now I just wanna be alone
But your close friends always seem to know
When there's something really wrong
So they follow me down the hall
And there in the bathroom
I try not to fall apart
And the sinking feeling starts
As I say hopelessly
"He said he'd be here"

And it was like slow motion
Standing there in my party dress
In red lipstick
With no one to impress
And they're all laughing
And asking me about you
But there was one thing missing
And that was the moment I knew

What do you say
When tears are streaming down your face
In front of everyone you know?
And what do you do when the one
Who means the most to you
Is the one who didn't show?

You should've been here
And I would've been so happy

And it was like slow motion
Standing there in my party dress
In red lipstick
With no one to impress
And they're all standing around me singing
"Happy birthday to you"
But there was one thing missing
And that was the moment I knew

Ooh, I knew
Ooh

You called me later,
And said, "I'm sorry, I didn't make it"
And I said, "I'm sorry too"
And that was the moment I knew

I couldn't help the tears that slid down my cheeks as I sang that song. I wiped them away with my sleeve and looked at them.

Taylor stood up and walked over to me, hugging me.

"You don't have to worry about him again," she told me. "He won't hurt you anymore."

"Was it Nathaniel?" Niall asked. I looked over at him. "Is he the one that you wrote this song for?" I nodded.

"You have to tell them sometime," Taylor whispered. I looked at her with fear in my eyes. They'd hate me! "Would you rather them find out from someone else?" I shook my head. "Then you gotta tell them." I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm myself down, before I looked at Niall.

"A-actually, I l-l-lied," I stuttered out. "H-his name i-isn't Nathaniel." He looked hurt. "I-I'm sorry. I-I-I didn't want you guys to h-hate me."

"Who was it then?" Niall asked. I looked down.

"N-N-Nathan," I said quietly. "N-N-Nathan S-Sykes."

~Niall's POV~

My fists clenched as she said that.

"You were hanging out with someone from The Wanted?!" I demanded. She flinched, and nodded. I saw a tear slide down her cheek, but I was mad. "Why would you even try?!"

"I-I-I ran into him when I was walking," she said. "I didn't realize it was him until I got to know him. He seemed like such a nice guy. And when he told me who he was, I decided to give him a chance. He was so sweet, and caring. And then tonight, we were going to tell you guys, but he didn't show up. And then he called saying he was sorry he didn't make it, but then I heard him. H-he was cheating on me. A-a-and they were together, in bed. I-I-I'm sorry." She burst out crying.

"We told you not to hang out with them," I growled. "But what do you do? You hang out with them!"

"Niall!" Taylor exclaimed, looking completely shocked. Probably because I was never like this. I was just so mad that he would hurt our baby girl.

"I-I-I'm sorry!" Savannah cried, standing up and moving to a corner of the room. "P-p-please don't hurt me!" She curled into a ball and cried into her knees.

Taylor gave me a look, demanding to know if we hurt her before. I shook my head and mouthed 'when she's ready, she'll tell'. She nodded. I walked over to Savannah and wrapped my arms around her. She looked up at me.

"I'm sorry," I whispered, nuzzling my head into her neck. "I promise, I will never hurt you. I'm not like your past parents. I just hate to see you like this. You're our baby girl." She hugged me back, and we sat like that for a minute.

I pulled away to stand up, but she was still holding on to me. I picked her up, since she was small enough, and followed Taylor out of the room.

We went downstairs, where Taylor said she had to leave, and I carried Savannah into the living room. We cuddled on the couch, and a minute later I heard her breathing even out, indicating she was sleeping.

The door opened, and I looked back to see the boys walk in with the girls.

"Hey, is Savannah ok?" Liam asked. I motioned to her laying on me.

"She's sleeping right now," I told them.

"Was it Nathaniel?" Harry asked. I looked down at her.

"She'll tell you when she wakes up," I said, and they all nodded. They all kissed her on the forehead before heading up to their rooms. I picked Savannah up and carried her to her room, putting her on her bed.

"I love you, baby girl," I whispered, and went to my room.

~Savannah's POV~ (couple weeks later) (boys know about Nathan)

I woke up the next morning, snuggled under my blankets. I listened for a moment, and when I didn't hear anything, I figured the boys were gone somewhere. I sat up and turned on the telly. Yes, I have a telly in my room. The boys had bought one for me a month ago, just because. It was a 72 in. flat screen.

I flicked through the channels until I saw the X-Factor was on.

"I'm here live from ExCel London!" Dermot O'Leary said over the loud crowd that was behind him. "And this...is X-Factor." The crowd screamed. "Auditions will be happening live, so come on down!" I got up and went to my closet to find something to wear. I had auditioned for the producers a few months ago, deciding to give it a go. I mean, the worst that could happen is that I get 3 nos. But that's not horrible compared to the orphanage.

I looked through my closet as Dermot talked about what was going on, and I looked for an outfit until I decided on http://www.polyvore.com/punk_rock_outfit/set?id=127566219. I pulled it on and smiled as I turned my hat backwards.

I walked downstairs and saw that nobody was there, so I left the boys a note.

Louis, Zayn, Liam, Niall and Harry,
Don't worry about me, I'm just out right now. P.S, I saw that the X-Factor was on channel 'xx'. I know how much you guys like the show (:
~Savannah xx

I set it on the table, made sure I had my wallet and keys, and started walking out the door when I realized I needed my guitar. I ran upstairs to my room, grabbed it, and went back downstairs. I locked the door and made my way to ExCel London.

'cause you know, why not have their daughter audition for X-Factor just like they did? 'cause that's not cliche at all (cringe). Chapter 14, everyone
