~Savannah's POV~
Hours passed by, and he still didn't show. There were still so many people coming to talk to me, but I just wanted to be alone right now.
I felt someone place a hand on my shoulder, and I turned to see Jackson, Ryan, Ian and Nick. They were close friends of Nathan, and I met them a couple weeks ago.
"Hey, you alright?" Jackson asked. I nodded, and I just pulled away. I started walking down the hall to the bathroom. I heard them following me, but I didn't care.
Once I got to the bathroom, I shut the door behind me and locked it before sinking to the ground. I tried to stop the flow of tears that were coming, trying not to break down as my stomach started to twist.
"He said he'd be here," I whispered to myself. I closed my eyes and tried to will all the tears away before I got up and looked in the mirror. The makeup hadn't run, thank goodness, but my eyes were a little red. I waited until the redness had gone away before I opened the bathroom and walked out.
I walked back to the party and heard people laughing, Harry's above the rest. I felt someone place their hand on my shoulder, and I turned to see Taylor Swift standing there.
"Hi," I said, smiling at her.
"I meant to ask you earlier, how's Nathaniel?" she asked, winking and gently bumping my hip. We had gotten really close over the party, even if I was half away in my thoughts. I would even think we were friends. Not like her and Selena close, but still close.
"He's good," I said. "He's really good."
"Where is he?" she asked. "I'd like to meet him."
"He's not here right now," I said. "He had something planned with his family, but he promised he'd be here sometime tonight."
"Well, you'll have to introduce us after," she said, smiling. I smiled back. She looked me in the eye, and her smile dropped a bit. "Hey, are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm good," I said.
"If you ever need to talk," she said, pulling out her phone, "you can text me." I handed her my phone, and we put our numbers into each other's phones.
"Savannah, make your way to the front please," Niall called over a mic. I handed her back her phone at the same time she did mine, and I made my way up to the front of the room where I saw a big cake with candles on it.
"Everyone sing!" Louis cheered on, and everyone started singing happy birthday. My smile dropped as I thought about Nathan. He was singing it to me yesterday, even though my birthday's today.
"Blow out the candles!" the boys cheered. I felt tears fall down my face as I thought about Nathan.
"Savannah, are you ok?" Zayn asked, and the steady pour of tears couldn't be stopped. I looked around the room and saw everyone looking at me with concern. I looked back at the boys, and I couldn't help it.
"I'm sorry," I whispered, and I ran out of the building.
The building wasn't that far from the house, so I ran all the way there. I went up to my room and shut the door, locking it. I took the heels off and went to my closet, pushing the shoe rack away. I opened the door and shut it behind me, running up the staircase to my little room. I shut the door and my phone started ringing. I answered it.
"Hello?" I asked, with a strong voice.
"Hey, babe, it's Nathan," he said. I heard a moan in the background. "Sorry I couldn't make it–oh god, Julie; fuck yeah, suck it like that."
"I'm sorry too," I said, letting my voice crack. "Sorry I ever trusted you." I hung up and laid down on one of the couches, crying into the pillows.
