(fyi this chapter has more than 500 words for once oml haha)

Phil paced his house.

Deep in his thoughts, he had ignored the outside world for a good 1 and a half days since finding Dan at the flower shop.

Should I go see him again? I mean would it be creepy to just kinda show up all "hey Dan I'm back" but I mean-

He stopped and sighed. What a useless problem to think about. Heck, was it even a problem? It was actually just his anxious mind contemplating whether wanting to meet another person that, mind you, you've known for 2 days is creepy or not. He didn't know but his mind was going round in circles; always ending at the part where Dan would reject him and he'd lose him forever.

Oh goodness that's just stupid, Phil. You need to suck it up and go visit him if it makes you happy. But would it make Dan happy?

Oh, yes it would, as at that exact moment Dan was creating a bouquet inspired by Phil.

Would it be too much to say I want to meet him again?, Dan pondered for a while. He shook his head and went back to making his creation.

Pastel colored flowers laid loosely held in his palms as he used the other hand to arrange the flowers. Comparing the light pink and soft orange ones, he mindlessly thought about Phil once again. I hope he just so happens to need flowers soon ugh please Phil, Dan continued to think. If, say, Phil were to walk in right now Dan would be overjoyed.

Fuck it I'll go, Phil decided and jumped up from his couch. What excuse would he have to use? He could just say he wanted flowers or something. Yeah, that'd work.

Trying not to fast-walk, Phil began his journey to Bloom where Dan was thinking about him as much as he was about Dan. After those few excruciatingly long minutes of walking, he had reached his destination. He opened the door.

Oh goodness it's happening, he thought.

Dan didn't notice him at first. He was way too deep into his bouquet to pay attention to anything. If this bouquet wasn't finished in the next 10 minutes, Dan would rage because it is kind of frustrating to have an incomplete bouquet lying around, and he had spent way too much time on it already.

"Dan?", Phil nervously asked when seeing his concentrated expression.

Dan's head shot up and he dropped the flowers in his hand. "Oh sh- I mean hi Phil!", he quickly corrected himself when seeing who was in front of him. At the speed of sound, he picked up the fallen flowers and carefully put them on the table. Phil, who was trying to hide his smile, waved. "Hello"

"What brings you back here?", Dan asked, failing to mask his happy tone.
"Just wanted some flowers I guess. I absolutely love your shop"

And that was actually true.

"Thank you! I did a good job, didn't I?", Dan laughed. "Also, I was meaning to ask you earlier but, are you free this Saturday?"

Phil gave him a confused look but nodded. "I think so"
"Perfect. I'm taking you out to lunch and you can't say no. So what's your answer?"
"Yes! I mean- only because you said I couldn't say no"
"Cool! What time?"
"12. Sharp"
"Like my wit?"
"Oh you-"

Suddenly a customer opened the shop door and interrupted their conversation. "Hello", she greeted them. "Do you do events?"

Dan ushered Phil to the back and nodded to the lady. "What kind of event are you thinking of?", he asked.
"I'm having a dinner party at my house and I need some flowers, I mean, of course that's why I'm here"
"Okay, I see", he said as he took out a notebook and pen. "What kind of themes are you going for?"

As Dan turned on his "professional mode", Phil looked around in the back. High shelves lined every wall and petals and leaves littered the floor. Phil turned around and saw a bucket full of fresh, red roses in a corner. Turning to look again at the other side, he noticed a small room in the back; a bathroom he assumed when seeing the sink from behind the half closed door. Then, he decided to look at what was on the shelves and noticed many miscellaneous items: ribbons, scissors, wires, etc.

"Wow", he muttered. After gazing at the room once again, he decided to look out the door to see what Dan was doing.

"....anything else you'd like to request?"
"No, that's it thank you"
"So, we have an appointment to talk further about this on Friday?"
"Sounds perfect. Thank you very much, I'll see you then"
"Goodbye, have a a great day, Madame"
"Thanks you too"

She walked out the shop as Phil walked back in the room.

"How'd it go?", he asked.

Dan nodded and smiled. "Pretty good"
"That's nice"

A few seconds of awkward silence followed as both struggled to find any words to say. Finally, Phil asked, "Why'd you offer me lunch and all? I mean not that I don't like it- it's just-"
"Well, I just think you're a lovely person. And I need to thank you for complementing my bouquet because that meant a lot to me and- I just felt really special. It's a thank you from me to you. So, thank you Phil"
