*Chapter II*
Zöe was terrified! What did the man her father was with mean? What actions had caused the man of death (aka Nicholaus) visit their domus? After Zöe kept receiving mysterious letters from around the world, her father seemed quiet and suspicious. He took the letters every Tuesday and burned them in the atrium. She decided it was nothing and went to the temple to pray.
"Zeus, please accept my offering." She gave bread and grapes to the god. "I miss the ring and De...." Zöe stopped to compose herself. "umm I would really love for father to be happy again and to stop going away to Rome so much. But whatever your will is what I will do, Almighty Zeus."
She left without answers and feeling more alone than ever. Her father was furiously scribbling on a papyrus sheet when she returned. He stood up looking triumphant and stormed out of the house and to the high courts. Zöe was left alone with the servants all afternoon. About 6 in the evening a young man knocked on the door and was lead to the atrium. The atrium was Father's pride and joy. It was filled with the most treasured art from around the world, the servants were top of the line. Zöe heard them and headed to the atrium. Her jaw dropped and face went pale when she saw who it was.
