*Chapter III*
"Thank the gods!" Zöe said as she hurled herself into his strong, muscular arms. "I thought you were dead, also. Last time I saw you was when we were 12 and we built a sand castle on the beach."
"I thought I might find you here. I was dismissed by the noble from the military to find you."
Ignoring his previous sentence she wanted to know "Have you seen.....?"
"No, not a trace of where he might've went to"
"Philipp, if you find anything"
Cutting off her sentence he replied " Yes, of course. I would let you know we've been best friends since we were born, it's my pleasure to help with something this important to you."
"Thank you so much." Zöe said as a single tear trickled down her cheek.
"Now, you have to come with me. You're not safe here anymore."
"I must tell Father. We will have to wait until he gets back."
"If you insist, Zöe"
As they sit down a servant comes over and offers grapes, fine cheese, and wine to Philipp.
Zöe nervously plays with her blonde hair and asks "The military... How do they know that I'm in trouble?"
"They just do." Philipp says trying not to divulge secrets.
"No, That tis not good enough! Nicholaus, your father, stopped by before the murder of my mother happened! Father didn't listen and now she's gone! FOREVER! There's no getting her back. Why do I have to leave? Why am I in danger?" Her blue eyes begged for answers.
Philipp took her small, delicate hands in his, looked into those eyes and couldn't lie to her, but he wouldn't answer.
Zöe had enough waiting and bluntly said "the military has changed you. What are you hiding?"
"Pirithous, your father, has been ignorant and been protesting against the military. Caesar wants his head on a platter, but then he thought of a much more devious plan..."
"Oh my... ummm why did you come here?"
He lovingly squeezed her hand and answered "I was sent here to murder you."
