it wasn't a secret to anyone that mingyu liked — and probably loved — suri. and when he heard her pronounce the three words every single person on earth craves to hear by the special someone, the time seemed to have stop.

his grip around her small hand tightened, and he let out a content sigh. "i know we aren't that close, but i'm very, very, very happy to hear that." suri stared at his profile and gently smiled. mingyu. this boy has changed her life to the better and she couldn't think of a way to say how glad she actually was for him to be by her side.

"let's hold hands!" the boy said, a bit too excited about being alone with his crush in a place no one knew them. a place no one could judge then. "what are you saying? stop..." suri's round cheeks reddened as she hit his shoulder, making the boy chuckle. she looked up to hide her embarassement. "we'll hold hands. i promise."

mingyu had parked to car somewhere near the center of the small town he drove them at. they were now walking around, looking for a coffee shop, a place they could warm up. in other words, to simply grab coffee.

just then, she noticed the temperature dropped and the sky had turned a dark shade of blue. "are you cold?" her neck tilted to the side and she saw how the tall boy was starting to take off his coat. she wanted to stop him and tell him to keep it, but she was too slow and the boy pulled her closer to him. their chests glued together and their heartbeats racing together.

the girl nervously bite her lower lip and she swore she heard her tall friend mutter under his breath. "please, don't do that. i might kiss you." she decided to stay silent. once he zipped up the coat, they looked in each other's eyes. mingyu unconsciously brushed away hair strands that were sticking to her cheeks because of the light breeze. his hands stayed on her cold face for few seconds before they fell and grabbed her own

""see? i told you we'd hold hands." at first, she was confused, but it got to her, she only scoffed before chuckling.

mingyu just knew how to make her smile.

"do you have strawberry milk?" the waiter looked at mingyu with a judmental stare and back at suri who was half-hiding behind his back

"do you have strawberry milk?" the waiter looked at mingyu with a judmental stare and back at suri who was half-hiding behind his back. "we don't but we do have strawberry moka coffee?" mingyu looked at the girl who looked at him confusedly. "what does it taste like? my girlfriend doesn't tolerate strong caffeine." the girl he called his girlfriend opened her mouth to say otherwise but only ended up pouting.

seeing the waiter's expression, mingyu saw how he was slowing getting on his nerves. "it kind of tastes like hot strawberry candy cane." the teenage girl tugged onto his sleeve, and as if he could read her mind, mingyu ordered a large one for her. "oh, and a large hot americano."

they were walking close to each other and looked at whatever caught their eyes. They stopped in front of a toy store, a vintage beige store and a bright and colorful candy shop.

suri was now bending down in front of a glass, staring at the puppies behind it. "i thought puppies held tons of bacteria." he said behind her but she didn't protest. she only showed more adoration for the furry creatures that were licking the glass, trying to lick her hand. "maybe they do, but look at how adorable they are..." she hesitated before posing her hand completely on othe glass and smiling at the puppies.

"do you want one?" the question caught her out of guard and she whipped her head back to look at him, her hair a dark halo around her pink tinted face. her eyes were wide open. "i'll buy you one." she didn't know if she should either believe him or not. "they're on sale, and i think it's a good way for you to get over your phobia..." the boy tried to find an excuse, but ended up saying non-sense.

suri looked at him with her stone eyes and stood up. she leaned foward, her hair hanging on the side. she looked up at her friend who was looking shyly at the ground. the height difference was probably the first thing people notice. "how about you buy me one, since you insist and i give you something back?" — "what do i get in return?"

suri, who was usually the silent girl at the back of the class that no one paid attention to, was taken aback and didn't know what to say. she didn't think he'd actually agree with her. "do... you want so-someth-ing in parti-ticular?"

"i don't know if you'll hate me after this or not, but i don't care because at least, i could say that i had the greatest time with you and that nothing could make me like you less than i like you right now." his words made her heart race and she felt butterflies in her stomach, almost making her feel light headed.

"so which one do you want?" he looked at the overexcited puppies that were waiting to be adopted. "i don't mind. as long as it's you who buys it, it doesn't really matter." that was probably the cheesiest thing she has ever said in her entire life, but it didn't even matter anymore because her feelings for him were just getting stronger every second.

he left her to enter the store. she could see the boy talking to the saler, probably making a deal by showing off his charm because the old lady threw her head back while holding her stomach. just few minutes later, the boy in question got out of the store, holding in his long arms a black and white husky puppy.

"oh my god!" suri's jaw literally dropped and she almost threw herself on the boy. "i got a 87% discount. oh, it's a male and his name's up to you to decide." few seconds passed and the teenagers were still staring at the half-asleep puppy, as if it was their newborn child. "and now, what do i get?"

when she looked up, he couldn't read her expression. and then, a warm pair of lips touched his own.

lee. suri. was. kissing. him.
