Chp. 15 | Bad Greetings

~Scarlet's POV~

A hard life won't hurt you, if you know how to deal with it, it will help you.

"YOU?!" Opal and Pepper shrieked in unison when they both caught a glimpse of each-other. I saw their faces painted with anger. A binding, white, light surrounded Pepper and she shifted into this shiny, blue, scaled dragon. "You should have died!" Pepper roared. Opal gave her a scowl as a response. Just as Pepper was about to aim an attack at Opal the amulet on her neck shattered and thats when she lost it. A binding light surrounded her and she was a human again. Grasped in her hand was a black scythe. "GRAAAAAH!" She screamed before running at Opal quicker than I could see. I felt a burning passion inside me, something was telling me to protect Opal. A black aura surrounded me and flames encased my fist. Black and Red armor surrounded my body and I rushed in front of Opal and braced myself for the pain.

*Slash!*

It never came. I opened my eyes slowly and saw a red dragon. Blood trickled down its side, thats when I realized who it was. Angela. "Angela!" Opal, Pepper and I exclaimed. The scythe had disappeared and Pepper was hugging Angela, who was still a dragon. "You idiot!" Pepper screamed in tears. A binding light surrounded Angela and she was human again. The blood still painted her side and she fell to her knees, gasping for breath. The magic from me disappeared into thin air, and it left me feeling weak. Needless to say I was hungry for power, I just didn't realize it. "S-scarlet?" I turned to see Angela. "What?" I asked. "You're a shadow knight?"

My eyes widened. Only then did I realize the dark magic running through my veins.

~Pepper's POV~

"You're a shadow knight?" Angela asked in fear. I sighed while a shadow loomed over my face... Angela didn't notice until now. Scarlet's eyes widened in shock and fear, they were red, an evil color that I hated with a burning passion. It was the color of the flames my parents died in, Angela's too. "That doesn't matter." Opal stated, propping her hand on Scarlets shoulder. I looked down and felt tiny, wet, drops roll down my cheeks. "W-we need to go." I managed to stutter. "But why?" Opal asked emotionless while tending to Angela's wounds. I looked up at her and stared longingly. "Oh'kassis. The capital."

~Meanwhile~

~Past Pepper's POV~

I looked down on my creaking, oak desk at the two amulets I had forged. A blue one, representing the element of frost and snow, while the other was red, like a burning fire.
One day, my next life will find these. And when she does, she'll use it to unlock another's power.
I sighed while the door flew open. "Lord Pepper the village is being attacked!" My head guard Jose shrieked. I cloaked myself in black with my bangs covering my eyes. Tears rolled down my cheeks and I walked outside to see the heat of battle. My village was badly losing. "What should we do?" Jose's voice quivered. I ignored him and walked into the middle of the two villages.
"O' power of the Frost and Snow dragon! Lend me your power!" I chanted. My arms raised above my head and above me a tiny white light grew bigger by the second until it consumed me. I had shot a self destruct spell, it would hurt the opposing village, and turn me into ice. Where I would soon melt. "Please... Protect my village." I whispered.

~Opal's POV~

I stared at Pepper with curiosity flashing through my eyes. "Oh'kassis? Are you crazy?!" I screamed. Pepper infuriated me soo much! Since the day she betrayed me and took my mother's locket! "If we go to Oh'kassis I can forge another amulet there. And return your mothers locket. I flinched, she never mentioned it until now. I let out a sigh,"Fine."
