Chapter 13

   When we got back to Alexandria everyone was baffled I found a baby. I decided to name him Aiden. I don't know why I named him that, it just seemed to fit him.

   The girl we found still hasn't woken up. She was carried to the doctor and started to be examined. Ron seems a little attached if you ask me. He instantly started helping and everything when she came in.

   I have been searching for Rick, hoping he had some baby formula, an extra bottle, maybe even some clothes for Aiden. Deanna got Aiden looked over and he is hungry but other than that he is a very heathy baby boy.

     "Hello?" I say into the closed door of Rick's house and knocking on the door with one hand and Aiden in the other. The door opens and Rick comes into view and says, "Oh, hello Octavia. Who do you have there?"

     "This is Aiden. I found him on the last run I had with Glenn." I hold Aiden into view of Rick and move the blue blanket out of his face.

      "He is adorable. You want to come in?" Rick moves out of the way to let me in. I nod my head yes and walk in.

     "Did you need anything?" Rick asks and shuts the door.

     "Uh yes actually. I was wondering if you had any extra formula, bottles, clothes, blankets even?" I started bouncing Aiden a little because he was starting to wake up.

     "I do! Let me go get them." Rick goes  upstairs with the sound of his heavy footsteps echoing the room.

     "Don't worry Aiden. You will get fed soon. I promise." I said in a baby voice. He smiled up at me and his tiny hand reached up and lightly touched my nose. I laughed.

     "Who is this? He is cute." A voice behind me says, startling me a bit. I turn around quickly. It was just Carl.

     "This is Aiden. I found him in a car, his mom was about to turn. Thank goodness I found him when I did." I hold Aiden closer to my chest.

"Yeah, he is lucky. So why are you here?" Carl asks shoving his hands in his pockets awkwardly.

"Rick is giving me extra baby stuff."

"Oh."

"Yeah..." Man this was getting very awkward, very quickly.

"This is all I found." Rick broke the awkwardness by stomping down the stairs with a box full of baby stuff.

"Thanks! Your a lifesaver!" I walk over quickly to the box and scope out what's there. There is a lot of good stuff I could use. Definitely will have to get boy clothes on next run.

"No problem. If you run out of formula I have more."

"Thanks again. I am gonna go home. See you guys later." I grab the box with Aiden in my other arm.

"Anytime." Rick follows me out and shuts the door behind me.

"Alright Aiden, let's head home."

I went back home and washed everything and warmed up a bottle of Aiden. He drink it in record time. After I went upstairs and gave Aiden a bath, changed his diaper and gave him new clothes. Man I really need to get him new clothes.

"There. Isn't that better?" He made baby noises in response. I lightly kissed his forehead and laid him down in his pre made bed. Basically it was pillows formed a square with blankets. He instantly fell asleep.

"You will become a great mother one day." Maggie says quietly, walking into my room.

"Thanks. You will be too." I replied with a big smile on my face.

"I can't wait to have a baby of my own but in this world..."

"Yeah, I understand." I move over so she had room to sit. We were both looking at Aiden sleeping.

"He is lucky you found him."

"I'm the lucky one.." I tilt my head, realizing it's true. Without him I would be lost in my feelings and would be a wreck. Aiden keeps me sane.

   Aiden is a pretty heavy sleeper and didn't wake up not once in the middle of the night. I actually woke up before him. I decided to take a quick shower since he is still asleep.

   After I showered Aiden was up. He rolled on his side which I was really excited about. I changed his diaper and clothes. Then I wrapped him up in his now clean blue blanket, he looked like a burrito.

   We walked downstairs and the smell of breakfast hit my nose.

    "It smells good in here." I say walking into the kitchen to see Maggie and Glenn fixing breakfast.

     "Ah, there they are! Thought you would have missed breakfast." Glenn pretends to be shocked. I sit down in a chair and Maggie comes beside me and hands me a warm bottle for Aiden.

     "Thank you. Aiden slept all through the night, I even woke up before him." I explain as I start to feed Aiden.

     "That's good. He doesn't seem to cry a lot either. I think Glenn cries are than Aiden does." Maggie informs, putting food on three plates. Glenn laughs and playfully nudges Maggie. We all broke our into laughter, even little Aiden.

     "Breakfast is served." Glenn tried to sound British but failed tremendously.

   We all ate breakfast, laughing and what not. We were currently in the living room, I was on the floor with Aiden and we were playing while Glenn and Maggie played another one of their board games. All of a sudden, someone knocks on the door. Maggie gets up to answer it and tells Glenn not to cheat while she is gone. I hear them talking but I can't make out what they are saying.

     "Octavia, can you come here please." Maggie asks.

     "Sure. Glenn watch Aiden please?"

     "Yeah, go on then." Glenn makes his way down on the floor in my spot as I walk towards the front door. I see Rick.

     "Oh hey Rick. What's up?"

     "It's about the girl you and Glenn brought it."

     "Okay, what about her?" I lean on the doorway.

     "She is awake."

  I know, I know this was a boring chapter but a book has to have a few to keep it going. The next one will be good I swear. I have a 3 day weekend this week so I am on day 1. I will probably get another chapter up tonight, and one or two more over the next few days.
