Chapter 16

   Roughly a day has gone by and we still haven't found Aiden. Let me tell you something, I have slept a minute. I have barely ate but Maggie is making sure I do. I am not doing this because of depression, I am just too worried about Aiden and I have been spending all my time out looking for him.

"We will find him." Carl whispers in my ear for the unknown about of times. Right now he is cradling me in his arms and rocking us slowly.

"I hope so, I can't live without him." I mumble into Carl's damp shoulder, from where I have been crying. Crying is a stupid thing. I mean why do us humans do it? It's just a waste of time and body fluids.

Heavy footsteps go up the stairs outside my bedroom in a rather fast pace. Suddenly my door swings open to reveal Maggie standing there breathless.

"We...we found Aiden." Maggie says breathless while gripping the doorframe for support.

I spring up from my spot on the bed with Carl. Maggie moves out of my way and I run out into the hallway and down the steps.

"Where is my baby?!" I shout throughout the house.

"In here." Michonne says in a more claiming tone than me. I follow her voice into the living room. She is standing next to Rick who is holding Aiden to his chest.

Rick and I meet halfway and he immediately hands over Aiden. I carefully hug Aiden into my chest. Happy tears run out of my eyes and I laugh lightly.

"It's okay Aiden, mommy's got you." I murmur on top of his head. He has grown some hair.

"Hey Aiden." Carl's voice softly says behind me. I turn to face him with a big smile on my face.

"Here." I gently hand over Aiden to Carl whom welcomes him warmly in his arms. After Carl has him I turn towards Michonne and Rick who both have a smile on their faces.

     "Who took him?" I cross my arms ready to have a serious talk with this person.

     "We don't know." Michonne says, shifting her gaze down to her shoes.

     "Don't know?! Where did you find him?" By my tone you could tell me temper was raising.

     "We found him in a building people have been using for storage. He was laying down in a cardboard box with blankets." Rick explains while looking at Michonne then to me.

     "How in the hell did he get there?!" My voice raises slightly and Aiden starts to cry behind me but Carl quickly shushes him.

     "We dont know. We are trying to do everything we can." Rick replies calmly. How are they so calm right now? My ba-Aiden just got stolen.

     "Well try harder!" I storm off and push a vase off of a stand, making a huge mess. I stomp upstairs, with someone following but I ignore it.

"Can we come in?" I could recognize that voice anywhere. Carl.

"We?" I scrunch my eyebrows up in confusion then I realized he still had Aiden. I got up from my bed and walked over to the door and opened it. Carl smiles at me and so doesn't Aiden. God I have missed him so much. I will destroy whom ever took him, mark my words.

"He was asking for you." Carl laughs lightly, shrugging and in the process handing Aiden over.

Once he was in my arms all my angry, stress and sadness went away. I smiled while carrying Aiden over and laid him on the bed. I lay on my side facing Aiden and carl does the same. Now we are facing eachother.

"Bemygirlfriend." Carl said quickly.

"Sorry?"

"I love you Octavia and Aiden. We are like one happy family, maybe even have one of our own. Anyways I really like you Octavia, so will you be my girlfriend?" After he said that a big smile forms on my face, even Aiden had one.

"Of course and maybe have one of our own..." Carl smiles and we shared a kiss. Then I really thought about it, having kids in this world. I love children but I don't think it would be the best idea to have a child during the zombie apcoloyspe. Always wanted to have kids of my own, but I have Aiden now.

"What are you thinking about?" Carl asks me, breaking me out of my thinking.

"Oh...um just about having kids now, you know, in the apcoloyspe..." I look down at Aiden, only thinking about the thousands of ways things could go wrong.

"So what? Alexandria is the perfect place to raise a family. I mean we have food, water, weapons, protection. Judith will even have someone to grow up with." Dang, he really wants kids.

"Yeah true, but we both are too young. I mean your almost 18 and I am 17."

"As long as we have eachother, we will be fine, but yeah we are a little too young." Carl scratches the back if his neck awkwardly. I laughed. What did I do to deserve these two boys?

Today was better then yesterday. I mean I got Aiden back AND I am Carla girlfriend. I am still trying to find the person who stole Aiden. Pretty excited to pound someone's face in.

"Hey Octavia. Man it's been a while." Jessie greets and I walk up to her with sleeping Aiden in my arms.

"Yeah it has. How have you been?" I have really missed talking to Jessie and her cooking.

"Good, busy, stressful, confusing..." She looks down at the weeds age must have pulled from the small garden.

"Yeah I-"

-CRASH-

I shield Aiden with my body and hold him close as glass flies around me and Jessie. I look behind me to see Rick on top of Pete, strangling him.

     "Jessie hold Aiden!" I quickly but gently hand her Aiden. She takes him and shouts for Rick to stop, which he doesn't.

     "Rick stop! RICK!" I yell at him, but he continues to strangle Pete. I had about enough so I ran into Rick on the side and pushed him on the other. Once Pete was free he grabs his throat and gasps for air.

     "Rick what's going on?!?!" I shout helping him up. He doesn't look at me and just stared at Pete.

     "He took Aiden."

  Soooooo it's been a long time I know, good news is my soccer season is over in like 3 days, bad news is in a few days come these short cycle assignments for highschool we all have to take. So I will try to update as much as possible!
  Pete was the one who took Aiden! *gasp* Did you guys expect it to be him? And what about Carl asking Octavia to be his girlfriend and they are already talking about their future!
