It's been a week, now... Nothing happened. I guess I finally feel like I'm getting the hang of this place. Yeah, I know I said I would be done before, but that's not what my parents would've wanted. I need to get good grades and have good attendance. Anything else is a failure to me.
The biggest thing that happened over the past week was simply that my Geometry teacher got sick... It hasn't even been a month, and I'm already sick of this.
Finally, something interesting happened.
I was in English when it happened.
"Dude, I haven't shaved for a while. Look at this." A guy standing right next to my desk, who appeared to be Ryan's friend tilted up his chin, showing a barely visible patch of blonde hair.
Impressive, I thought sarcastically with an eye roll to myself. I hope they didn't see my occasional glares at them. They were in my space. Come on.
Ryan replied by pointing at his chin. There appeared to be nothing. "Check this out."
I've had it with listening to their conversations. I put on my headphones to tune them out, when...
"Hey," Ryan touched my back in a caring way, sending shivers up my spine.
Holy. Shit. What was that?!?
I forced a smile, fighting the butterflies in my stomach. "Hey. How was your summer?"
"Pretty good."
I am so freaking awkward. "How's high school going?"
"It's alright. Well, I'm gonna let you get back to your alone time. See ya," he said with a smile that could make girls faint.
Stop.
"See ya." I gave one last smile, and sighed as I put my headphones on and he walked away. Did that just happen?
