I rode at a walk for a while until I saw a small farm. I halted Smokey and looked into the field. A blood bay warmblood stood in the field with a girl about my age on her back. The warmblood was directed toward me just after I had nudge Smokey into a walk. I had gone about 4 feet when I heard someone yell. "Hey wait up!"
I halted Smokey again and looked in her direction. My red hair swayed slightly as I turned my head. The girl had dark brown hair and Green eyes.
My sky blue eyes met her green ones. "Hi I'm Chloe. This is my horse SunStar. Shes a blood bay warmblood." Chloe smiled at me.
"Im Madison but everyone calls me Maddie. This is Smokey. He's a dutch Shetland cross. I live about a mile away." I answered.
"Are you busy? maybe we could hangout at your house?" she asked.
"Sure. Follow me." I smiled at her.
"Stand back." She galloped to the middle of the field and then turned around. Pushing SunStar into a working canter, She jumped the fence.
"Wow! your really good! Come on. this way." I trotted in the direction of my house. She rode beside me and we giggled the whole way home.
We had put the horses into the paddock and went inside. I heard the news channel on and tan into the kitchen. "The 10 year old girl, Melanie, was found by none other than Mrs. Cole of Satin county Oregon. The young girls mother was killed in a car accident when Melanie was 3. Melanie has been placed in the joint custody of Mrs.Cole and Mr.Cole. Back to you George."
I sprinted up to the bathroom and grabbed my hair brush. Running it through my hair, I sprinted back to the kitchen and saw the fridge door open. I quietly crept around behind the red hair girl I knew so well. I silently stepped forward and hugged the body from behind. "Let go!! Please! Don't hurt me!" she screamed.
"WOAH! SHEESH!! Its just me! Maddie!!" she stopped freaking out and spun around.
"Maddie!!!! I missed you sooooo much!!" She hugged me.
"Come on. I have a surprise for you and I also have someone you should meet. This is Chloe."
"Hi" Chloe said.
"Hi! I'm Melanie." She turned to me. "Okay. what's my surprise."
I made her close her eyes and led her to the paddock. "Okay. Open your eyes. Pick any one of them except the blood bay warmblood. that's Chloe's horse."
"Oh! the little gray gelding!"
"That's Smokey. Which leaves me with Mistey. his sister." I smiled at her. "Let's go get some popcicals and watch a movie." I said. With my best friend and my new friend by my side, I went into the house.
