Andy

I haven't heard from or seen Jackie since that morning. I regret what I said and did so much, I don't know what had come over me. I let her have the present the guys gave us. I don't know what to do with my life anymore; there's no joy, it's been a while since I laughed- forget about laughing, it's been four months since I last smiled. I don't feel energy when I sing, I've tried calling her, and it's always a furious John or Andie. At some point, a few weeks ago, someone blocked me, so I don't even try anymore.

5 months after that

Andy

We're going back to Jackie's town for our tour. Who knows what'll happen.

Jackie

Black Veil Brides is coming to twin. I'm gonna go, not cause of Andy, cause I have nothing better to do with my life. I'm 21; I live with my mom, I work at Starbucks, and I look terrible. I have eternal gray bags under my eyes, and I've lost almost 10 pounds. I just can't seem to get over him, no matter how hard I try.

Suddenly, I remember the present the guys gave us the nights he proposed. I put the ring inside it, but I never looked what it was. I decide to go look. First, when I open it, I jut see the ring, and the object wrapped in paper. I pick it up, and hear a soft jingle from inside. I unwrap it carefully.

It's a small, silver baby rattle, with a stunning intricate carving of an owl carved in, and hanging off the tiny wings are two little golden bells. Andie walks in as tears come to my eyes.
"Andie, look what our engagement present was" I sob.
"Oh- Jackie! I thought you were over him."
"I guess not" I groan, burying my face into my pillow.
I look at my watch.
"Oh shit, the show starts in half an hour, gotta go."
"Kay, but don't so much as look at that asshole."
"Mm."
I get up, and just leave my hair in the messy bun it is. I put on (pic above) then go.

10 minutes later
I pull in to what is usually a random empty lot, now replaced with a stage. I give in my ticket, then expertly push through the crowd to get a decent view. They just came out- I could tell by the loud roar of the audience.
"Hey guys!" I hear his voice, sounding rather lifeless.
"We're gonna start with Rebel Love Song."

Andy

Finally, on the second-to-last song, my eyes look around, inspecting the audience. The usual crowd except- wait? Someone who looks like Jackie meets my eyes, then runs away hurriedly. Not caring, I grab someone from the audience to sing, and run after. My crappy girlfriend to I rather despise, Candi, with her fake head of blonde bleached hair and botched face came 'running' after me in her six inch heels.
"Where are you going, boo?" she squeaks.
"Candi, not now." I say and run faster.
I catch up, and see the girl running ahead.
"Jackie?" I call out. She turns her head, then only runs faster. It is Jackie. I manage to grab her arm.
"No! Let me go!" she sobs hysterically.
"Jackie, shh, calm down."
"No!" She tries to pull away failing, as she gets weaker from pulling. I pull her close, and hold her.
"Jackie, I'm so, so sorry. I'm so sorry."
She doesn't reply, but at least stops fighting, and sniffles.
"Jackie, I love you."
"I love you too." she whispers. She lifts her face out of my chest and looks at me. She looks like she's about to say something, but I stop her with a kiss. She hesitates first. Suddenly, i hear a shriek behind me.

Jackie

"Who is that bitch taking my boyfriend?" some bimbo shrieks.

Shit. What did you expect? I tell myself.
I hear Andy's voice:
"Shut up, Candi. If anyone's a bitch, it's you. We're over."
"Fine!" she shrieks furiously, and stomps off.
"Jackie, I'm sorry about that."
"It's fine."
"No, it's not. Words can't explain how sorry I am for what I did. I never meant to hurt you. I have never stopped loving you. Will you marry me?"
"An- yes." He hugged me tightly.

2 hours later
Jackie

We pull into my lot.
"Are you sure about this?" he asks nervously."
"I'm not gonna say they're gonna like you, but they'd better deal with it. Stay outside for a moment."
I walk in. Andie comes down the stairs.
"Oh hey Jackie,  how was the show? You seem happy."
"I am. I made a friend, too. He's actually waiting outside."
"Oh cool, let him in."
I go outside, then pull him in.
"Andie, Andy. Andy, Andie."
"No! Get him out of here!"
"Andie, quiet. We're reengaged, so you're gonna have to deal with him. Mom comes out of the kitchen. Surprisingly, she's not angry. In fact, she smiles.
"Glad to see you're back- just in time to help me with dinner."
All of us, including a grumpy Andie, go help, as the smell of grilling beef begins to waft through the air.
