Looking out this window,
So broken and so numb,
Watching the wind sweep,
All the leaves around.
My heart isn't really here,
And neither is my mind,
As I watch these people,
Gaily walk 'round town.
I remember the way,
You blithely swung our arms,
As we laughed and sauntered,
Deep into the starry night.
I remember the day,
As clear as a crystal,
You broke my weak heart,
In a million pieces.
I can't believe you lent,
Your secretive heart,
To my flimsy one,
Even though you knew,
I could not handle this.
I can't believe you went,
Ahead and left me,
Alone, by myself,
And went on to run,
After one more heart.
