I wait,
Wait,
And wait.
My eyebrows knit,
And my teeth have bit,
Into my lips,
Too far.
It's so late,
But it's still early,
But what if something happened?
My foot is tapping,
My mind is questioning,
My heart is beating,
So much faster.
Trying not to cry,
Trying to calm myself,
But I just can't.
What if something happened?
I glance at my watch,
But it's one big blotch,
The tears are coming.
And then there's footsteps,
So I wipe my eyes,
'Cause they've arrived,
And nothing happened.
And I quietly roll my eyes,
At ever edgy me.
