Dedicated to the person above for the great help you have done. Seriously, you deserve it. :)

If you had the same name/birthday/etc with my characters, it's purely a coincidence!

05 November 2011

It’s his birthday!

I tried to wake myself up early this day. Good that Angelo, Tony’s brother, woke me up early. Although it was tiring, I forced myself to bake a cake for Tony. I’d say Angelo is quite handsome too. He entirely looks like Tony, except for their attitude. Angelo was more motherly than Tony. I’d say, Angelo was the one who taught me how to bake a cake. You can also distinguish them by their accent. Angelo’s tone is really Italian, while Tony’s tone is more British than Italian.

I forgot some of the terms Angelo used. It was bakers’ terms. I was never a baker, so I certainly did not understand even a single term on my first try.

It just got into me that Angelo and Tony were twins when I finished decorating it. I was writing Tony’s name only and Angelo pouted – a cute one, I suppose. He was really staring at the cake during the entire decoration. I thought that he was looking at the cake that way because he was checking whether I created mistakes or not. After I finished decorating, he rather became upset and fed himself the uncooked batter of the cake. Then, he never looked me in the eye afterward.

It was their cousin, Maria, who told me about Angelo’s problem. I totally felt like a stupid idiot for missing it. They’re twins, of course, why didn’t I think about the birthday?

I don’t want to leave an upset brother-in-law, so I baked him a new cake. It was as small as a cupcake since Angelo had almost finished half of the remaining batter on the first cake.

Angelo was sulking. I found it so irresistibly cute. He was pinching his soft cake-plushie while speaking in Italian. Probably cursing ‘bout his brother again being the centre of attention – according to Maria.

Tony was already awake when the cupcake was done. I was decorating it when I heard someone going out of the room and going toward the telly and turning it on. When I was done on the decors, I approached Angelo. But, Tony witnessed how I gave it to him with a peck on the cheek.

I did not mean it to seem that way. That was for apology and I guess Tony misunderstood it.

I spent the rest of the day in the living room, holding the gift I’ve readied the night before. Yet, I wasn’t certain on how to give it to him. Tony thought that I was cheating on him…with his brother…with his own twin.

Angelo was right beside at that moment. He was telling me that Tony was always like that ever since they were young. He also admitted that he gets jealous of Tony because Tony gets to have whatever he wanted while Angelo was the one who supports Tony all the way and gets nothing.

He gave me an advice; I should give him the cake I had baked. I told him that it wouldn’t work, since he doesn’t even want me to talk to him…just to explain. But Angelo retorted that my efforts will be seen on the cake itself and in the sincerity of my apology and sooner or later, Tony will then forgive me.

He said that it sometimes takes time to heal a wound. Though it was a misunderstanding, I still have caused him an emotional wound.

So, during the dinner, we were all quiet except for Maria, who was informing Tony’s parents about what was happening. I decided to leave the dining table at that time and got the cake I baked and the gift I bought. I suddenly had a blur while going into the kitchen and totally blacked out in the kitchen. I knew someone caught me, but I couldn’t remember anymore.

I just woke up on my bed with an Italian soup on the bedside table.

Curiously yours,
