25 November 2011

Great. Maria and Angelo brought me to the garden to have a mini-picnic. I can’t say that I hated to be there—I like picnics, who wouldn’t?—but the person I was trying to avoid was there. He made me a crown of flowers and asparagus soup. Now…who am I to reject asparagus soup?

Angelo acted as if nothing happened. Normally, people would ask me about it and ask me again until my salivary glands go dry in answering the same thing. Actually, I’m happy that Angelo did forget the thing. That meant I have a chance to forget it as well.

Maria reported me about Tony, but she’s more cautious. She told me that Tony spent his days in Milan to search for his ex-boyfriend whose name is Francis, who unknowingly broke my heart. My guess, he went back to apologise to Francis and probably try to be together again. Although hurt, I still hope them the best.

“Suzanne,” voiced Angelo and handed me a sandwich with too much lettuce. Lettuces are delicious for me. They’re my sandwich favourites, so I happily bit on the sandwich when something hard suddenly hit my teeth. I pulled it out. It was a gold ring. Plain, but beautiful. I looked at Angelo. He was staring back at me.

“Will you…,” he stopped. I shifted my gaze to Maria, whose smile was radiating, as if trying to tell me to take it. Angelo cleared his throat and continued, “…keep that ring for me?”

I sighed in relief. I would have fainted in the scene if he didn’t do something like twists in his words. I nodded and gave him a hug. I simply slipped the ring on my ring finger. It fits perfectly.

Later that day, I was left to contemplate about what he did. If he meant to propose to me…should I have taken it or not?

                Confused,

                Suzy.
