Ch. 17 ~His Maiden, in the Labyrinth~

"I'll fall off, Sebastian!" Ciel, or rather Alois shouted out as he still stood on the ledge of the clock tower. Sebastian glared more at Hannah. "What can I do to convince you to return my young master, as himself?" he asked. "I could always-" "If you kill me, the young master..." Hannah said, "Will fall!" Ciel shouted out. Sebastian gritted his teeth while Claude stood there calm. "Ciel Phantomhive's body now belongs to my master. His soul, taken into Ciel Phantomhive, was quietly waiting for its time to awaken. And then he took the advantage of a weakness in Ciel Phantomhive's heart to steal his body using his own eye." Hannah said. "Our hands are tied as long as the young master's body is his hostage" Claude said. "Your hands may be tied, but you're hearts aren't, are they?" Hannah asked. Sebastian and Claude then looked to her in wonder and question.

"I'm sending you on a journey." Hannah said. "A journey?" Sebastian asked as Hannah smirked. "To retrieve Ciel Phantomhive, you'll journey through the labyrinth of Alois Trancy's heart, firmly etching the proof that he lived." Both of them narrowed their eyebrows at her thinking it was a ridiculous idea. "What have you done with Mystery?" Sebastian asked trying to stay calm. "It's alright. She's safe. She's waiting for us at the starting point of the labyrinth." Hannah said as she walked down to the maze and the two butlers followed. "You brougt her into this situation too?" Sebastian asked glaring. "Of course. All you three of you both desire Ciel Phantomhive and this is the only solution." Hannah said and nothing else was said...

They approached near the labyrinth and saw Mystery already there and unharmed, making Sebastian relieved. Now, Mystery, Claude, and Sebastian stared at Hannah. "I've told Mystery everything. You must journey through the maze and answer every question about Alois Trancy. Each one you get right will get you closer to winning, if you get a wrong answer you start at the beginning. Whoever wins advances to the next trial..." Hannah said and then she was gone in a flash and appeared next to Ciel on the clock tower. "Come on then! Come to me, quickly! " Ciel shouted out again. "The only thing I'll embrace is Ciel Phantomhive's soul." Claude stated earning glares from Sebastian and Mystery.

Sebastian then whispered ton Mystery, "Mystery, you know that in this trial we can't work together. You'll be on your own..." "I understand," Mystery said "If I don't make it, I know you'll get the advantage. But still, if you somehow don't mae it, then I'll do my best to keep Claude's touch off Ciel" Sebastian lightly smiled and nodded. "Be careful, my love" Sebastian said as he gave her a kiss on her temple and he then Claude raced off in different directions in the labyrinth. Mystery took another direction and started to walk in the narrow path...

Ciel was surrounded by darkness and he looked utterly confused. "What's going on?" Ciel asked himself. 'I've been taken over by Alois? I've taken in his memories?' Ciel thought to himself, 'My mansion burned... No, is that a village burning...? But I don't know this village. I was looking for my mother and father...' Ciel saw himself when he was ten years old and opened doors only to lead him to a burning village. And then he saw a little dead boy on the ground. Luka. 'Who is this? No... this memory... is... not mine.' Ciel continued to think more of these things and then he saw Mystery, only she was younger and still human.

'Mystery? Why is she here in a village?' Ciel then saw her taking care of two boys. He recognized the boy with blonde hair. Alois. And that other boy he saw dead was alive and smiling. The scenery then changed to when Mystery was older and saw her working at his mansion, talking and spending time with the servants... and lastly when he hugged her. 'Mystery... she knew Alois? And... she looks different here than before...'

Mystery had her hood up as she walked further into the labyrinth. She came across a table in front of her. On top of the table was a little box. She cautiously opened it and took the paper out. It had a question on it and she must answer it correctly in order to proceed forward. Mystery looked at the question. "What was Alois Trancy's brother's name?" Mystery said out loud. "Luka Macken." she answered and she heard a ding! meaning she got the right answer. The wall of vines and roses moved allowing her to continue on.
