Monday-3:35pm
I whistle tunelessly as I walk up onto my porch. I pull the key out of my pocket and jam it in the key hole on my front door. I turn it and open the door. As I take the first step I feel a tap on my shoulder. "Hey Darcy!" a voice yells in my ear. I cover my ears and know that it must be Joy. "Please don't scream in my ear" I beg turning around. "Oh sorry" she says still smiling. "So.. do you want something?" I ask resisting the urge to run inside the house and slam the door in her face. And then of course I would lock it with a padlock (or 5). I think about that for a minute but then deciding that it would be crazy to do that. "Well, yeah duh!" she says happily still shouting. "Please lower your voice" I ask again politely. She ignores me and keeps on screaming at me. "So can I come inside?" she asks excitedly. I was getting annoyed. I wanted to be alone and for her to stop being so loud. I wanted to get rid of her but I did not want to be rude. "Can I?" she asks her smile growing wider. I did not think it was possible for her smile to grow wider. "Well, uhh.." I start. "Come on, please, we can have so much fun! What do you want to play? I think we should play-. Wait actually we should-" I stop her. "SHUT UP!" I yell finally letting anger get the best of me. She look taken back and shocked. But I don't care. "GET OUT AND GO HOME!" I yell pointing at the door. She looks hurt and on the verge of tears. She stares at me her eyes glittering and her lip wobbling. "GO!" I yell. Tears stream down her cheeks and she runs out of the house. I breath heavily my arm shaking. I stand there for a while then suddenly the effect of what I had just done sinks in and I freeze. I clench my fists. I look up at the ceiling and groan. I stomp out of the house slamming the door behind me.
