It's Joy. She stands in the door frame a big fat smile on her face. I look at her confused. "Hello..?" I say. "Hi!" she says happily. "Can I come in?" she asks gesturing toward my house. "Uhh.. sure.. I guess" I say stepping back to open a path for her. She looks grateful as she slips off her sneakers and moves them off to the side of my welcome mat. She looks around, studying my house as I slam the door behind me. Sighing before turning back to her. As she sees my gloomy face her smile disappears a concerned look replacing it. "What's wrong?" she asks her voice full of worry. I bite my lip. Should I tell her? Should I not? I decide to tell her. She deserves to know. "Well.. umm.." I start as a lump forms in my throat. I take a deep breath and tell her.. Her eyes widen and a understanding look shows on her face. She reaches over and hugs me. "It's okay" she gently whispers in my ear. I bury my head in her shoulder and she pats my back. I know it's babyish but it feels good to be comforted.
