Sunday-6:00 am
The sky is pale orange and a bright light is dipping right above the horizon. A light breeze blows causing the trees to sway and it's blowing the grass beneath me. The birds are chirping and there is no traffic. It's all perfect. This is my happy place. I mean this is the only place I can be happy and get away from my troubles. Things are awful at home. My mom died from a sickness and then my dad he died heart broken. But the real reason is because my sister she's gone. She ran away. She.. I stop myself as and try to push the memory away. I take a few deep breaths and sigh. As I stare at the sun rise I hear a voice say behind me "Beautiful, isn't it?" I jump and spin around in a karate pose. There is a girl standing there. She has short straight black hair and freckles. She has cheerful and inviting baby blue eyes and fairly white skin and dimples when she smiles. She bends over laughing at my karate pose as I feel my cheeks getting warm. "Hi, I'm Joy" She says. I could see that. She did look very happy. She sticks her hand out. I look at her hand for a few seconds deciding whether to shake it but then I grab her hand and we shake. We are silent for a while. "So, umm.. are you here often?" she asks curiously breaking the silence. "Yeah... whenever I can" I say awkwardly. "Nice..." I'm glad she did not ask me about my family. She looked the opposite of me with my brown skin and my green eyes. I have my mother's gentle eyes or so I have been told. I have long brown hair tied up in a ponytail with strands of hair falling in my face. I blow them out of my face. She laughs a little and I smile.
