We attempted to flee from this hellish place, but we failed. We gave up on trying to open the vents. "Jayden, look, there's a sign behind these boxes..." Annabelle pointed out as she moved them.

Entry 1: I finally finished with the blueprints to the invention that will help the rebels defeat the Cobras for good...

"What do you think the invention is?" Annabelle questioned. I gave her a shrug as we left the room and entered the hallway. It seemed clear, so we step out. "Hey look, a random box." I said while walking toward it.

(kick the box?)

I decided to kick the box. And looked at it.

(Nothing happened.)

I shrugged my shoulders, but before my very eyes it formed into a very deformed person, with five eyes, 14 fingers, 1 arm, and 3 legs... "I'm so lonely..." It said while its arm stretched out and grabbed my arm. "What is that thing?!" Annabelle squealed.

I got my dagger out and cut off the arm, as it crawled away, the man formed another arm... "Won't you be my friend?" I grabbed my pistol, but before I was able to shoot it, he knocked it off my hand and it fired when it landed on the floor. I felt the bullet lodge into my abdomen.

I checked the beast's stats before I could go on...

"Please, don't make me continue." His arm stretched out to grab my gun. I quickly grabbed it and ran off from whatever that was, grabbing Annabelle as we ran off. "J-Jayden... I'm scared... I'm more scared of these things than the Cobras..."

I walked to a sign, and it read.

Entry 9: I ran some studies on them, and it turns out they have a fraction of the power their old selves had... A few actually have negative stats... I've never seen anything like it...

"Did you see how that thing had negative stats?" I asked the Brit. She didn't answer, but she buried her head into my chest. "I don't care about their stats... I just wanna go home..."

I grabbed her and held her tightly. "I'll find a way back, just follow me... We can do this." She let go and I found two another entries.

Entry 2: I just hope it'll work and we can all be free again.

Entry 3: I finished building the first prototype of it, what it does is it takes any deceased being back to life.

"I'm starting to get an idea why John is really hesitant to allow us to us the machine." I told Annabelle as she looked at the entries. "Let's just move on..."

When we entered a room, it was really cloudy inside, for some odd reason, so I turned the lights on. "Another entry..."

Entry 5: I was given a soul of an old "Hero" of this district. The fifth one to be exact... I just hope I can bring her back to life with this.

"Sophia?..." Annabelle mumbled while looking into the sign. "That's my name... Don't kill me please..." We heard from behind. When we turned around we saw a girl who looked halfway through the melting processes, she was a blob at this point, and missing an eye. She looked really... Creepy... "So-Sophia! I-It's me!... Annabelle... Remember me? I saved you from dying for the first time..." Annabelle cried out to the fifth fallen hero.

"Annabelle... You didn't save me the second time... I was... Vulnerable..." Sophia reminded her.

"You didn't want to hurt anyone... T-That's not my fault, soph..." Annabelle said while looking a little down. "I wanted to save you... But it would've been a suicide action... You don't have any idea who killed you, huh?"

"I don't want to know..." She said while walking away. "End my misery... I'm supposed to be gone..." She walked into a room, disappearing. "Look, a piece of paper." I picked up a random piece of paper and read it aloud.

Entry 7: IT WORKED! ALL OF THE TEST SUBJECTS WERE BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE! I NEED TO ASK THEM A FEW QUESTIONS TO SEE IF IT REALLY IS THEM

I set the paper down while Annabelle just handed me a notebook. "I found a book with all the entries inside it, I have no idea why there's signs all over the place with the same thing..." She said while I opened it read the ones we haven't seen yet aloud.

Entry 4: how it exactly works I still don't get, but it all makes sense... Tomorrow I'll have my first test subject.

Entry 8: After they were brought back, it was like they didn't remember dying at all... They actually seem less "Determined" than I anticipated...

Entry 10: I'm starting to worry for them now. They acting real... Strange. I asked some of them what opinion they have on life.

entry 11: All they said was... "Please end my suffering..."

Entry 12: I figured it was just a plausible side effect... Maybe this will stop in a few days or so. I'm sending them back to the rebels tomorrow.

Entry 13: OH MY GOD... JUST WHY? NO NO NO NO!!!!

Entry 14: They all somehow melted... And some formed together, others are nothing but deformities...

Entry 15: It's been a few days since this happened... I've been getting questioned where they're at, I never answer the calls anymore...

Entry 16: I'd  never believe this would happen... They all seem they're in great pain...

Entry 17: I can take it anymore, I'm going to have to give up on them, lock them in my study lab...

Entry 18: I've given up on these poor lost souls... There's no more hope, they're officially unable to die... It's really sad to think that no matter what, you'll be here for all eternity...

"That's heavy stuff." I commented. "Guys what are you doing here?!" John asked as we looked at him, while he burst in. "H-How did you find this place?" He noticed the notebook and snatched it from us.

"I ask you to watch over the lab and this is what you do?! Not trustworthy a-at all!" He shouted at us.

"John, did you find Annabelle and her friend yet?" Someone asked while coming inside. "Kat! It's been awhile." Annabelle Greeted the redhead. "Yeah, yeah. Let's just leave... Everyone... Well thing... In here is really hostile... It's best if you forget this ever happened..."

"Why should we?! I mean shouldn't we tell the rebels that this is what happened?" I asked.

"It's not that easy, Jayden... People would think less of me and demote me back to an assistant. They'll hire a new Royal scientist and I'll be made fun of all the time! I just made a few wrong calculations and used the wrong herbs to make this machine work! Just watch next subject will be a success..." John explained. Annabelle and I looked at each other and we shrugged. "Can't hurt to stay quiet... Just get us out of here..." I told him.

"Just follow us, don't touch anything..."
