Rue wait anxiously and become more restless as time pass by. She keep pacing back and forth infront of the main door, more like a guard dog.

A timid knock on the door make Rue jumped slightly and quickly open the door. Wordlessly, she just take a hold of Zayden's hand and leading him inside towards her bedroom.

"Now tell me what happened?" She said after finally settled down with her back against the headboard and legs under the duvet, same with Zayden who is sitting beside her.

It took quite a long time for him to answer when he finally voiced it. "You're glowing. I take it the date went well then."

Rue barely catch it but she know what Zayden on about. She decide to let him rambled on everything that's been bugging him, in hope it will make Zayden feel better.

"Well, let's just say. I'm, Zayden Blu Rhys is a big coward. I didn't took a chance but instead, i let the 'what if' limit me. Now, i'm regretting it. If i just be brave for once and took a chance, maybe. Just maybe, all that happening to me right now, will never happen. You know what funny. Uh-huh. To say it was funny was underestimated. Scratch that. You know what sucks? Watching someone you love, loving other."

By the end of his word, he already curled under the duvet on his side with his back facing Rue.

On the other side, Rue left with mouth hanging open and her eyes as wide as the size of the saucer. One question running through her mind. Zayden in love?

She about to question it further but hearing Zayden's snore filled the silence, she decide against it and close her eyes in hope to fall in a good slumber.

Rue woken up by the soft voice and hand that lightly shaking her shoulder.

"Rue, wake up. You need to get ready for school. Hurry up. I made chocolate pancakes." Aunt Esme said trying to coax her to wake up.

It seems working when she peek from under the duvet and reply with a simple okay.

"See you downstairs." Her aunt said.

Rue mumbled something under her breath while her hand patting the other side of the bed. She frowned when her hand come in contact with a cold sheet and empty bed. She look around in hope to trace any sign of Zayden but there is none.

Rue strolled from her bed to do her morning routine, ignoring the little sting in her heart.

"I can talk about it with him later in school." She said to pleased her heart.

She been proven wrong when Zayden ignored her completely and it start to get into her. She about to change it when she saw Zayden on his way towards the school cafeteria. Rue hots on her heels.

"Next time you should left some note or something before you gone so i won't be worried." Rue said loudly. Zayden may or may not pretend not to hear it and just continue his walk.

"Urgh, curse you with your long legs." She mumbled under her breath while trying to catch on him.

"Why are you ignoring me? It's not cute anymore!" She shouted, clearly frustrated.

"You rockheaded! Did i do something wrong?" Rue said out of breathe when she finally catch on him and sitting infront of him on their usual table.

"No Rue. I just. It's just. I'm not in a good mood today. I'm sorry i left without words. I promise it's not you thing. It's me thing." He said without looking up from his phone.

That action snapped something inside of Rue but the truth is, Zayden just swipping mindless on the home screen to make it look like he is busy.

"You know what. It wasn't fair for me to be treated like this. Why are you giving me cold shoulder. If i doesn't know better, i might think you have a crush on me. Need i point it out for you that it's not my fault your crush doesn't like you or notice you. I'm sorry it sound harsh but it's the truth. I'm clueless Zay. I didn't know anything about all this until last night. I thought we told each other everything? I can't be there for you if you keep things away from me. I thought better of you Z. Guess what, talk to me when you're not acting like a jerk and think better of all this. Keep in mind that watching you broke, broke me too." She rushily getting out from the cafeteria while wiping away her tears.

She doesn't know how she ended up in a field, with her back against the tree and her knees to her front.

While Zayden watching her left. He said sadly "How can i tell you that i have feeling for you, because, you see, you have feeling for him and it sucks."

"Rue?" Hearing her name being said, she raised her head just to see Cade towering her with a concern expression.

"Hey, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" Cade said then sit next to Rue to wipe away her tears.

"I don't know what's wrong. I shouldn't be crying. But i feel bad. I said things i shouldn't said. I was mad. It's a mess. I didn't meant it. I didn't. I swear." She rambled on while a new batch of tears flowing out his eyes. She hold back from reaching out to him for a hug but she decide against it.

"What? I don't understand." Now worried with Rue state, he pulled Rue to his chest to calm her down but it was no used when Rue cry harder than before.

"I don't too. But i learn one thing. Friend can break your heart too."

Cade confused face slowly change to frown when he get what it was about. What he about to do is not gonna be pretty.
