It's been a week since that incident. A lot of things has changed. Seems like Zayden made his mind to be a jerk towards Rue because he act like he doesn't have any clue who Rue is. He keep ignoring her and it was what he did best lately.
He even took it far when he goes to sit at the back of the class. Leaving Rue alone to mend herself.
It's not like she can't stand on her own feet but she used to having Zayden around to keep her accompany through thin and thick. It may seems like Cade is replacing Zayden slowly.
It may seems like all the changes between both of them didn't affected Zayden but he suffered too. He just don't wear his heart out on his sleeves like Rue.
He missed it how he used to tell random stories in his mind to Rue that she act like she doesn't care but fighting a smile that start to creep in. He missed it how he used to help her to carried all her books to all classess. He missed how he used to poke her just to made her annoyed. He missed how he used to be Rue's bodyguard. The list go on and he missed everything.
He may act like Rue is invisible to him but he known her better than anyone else. He noticed how her beautiful smile being replaced with a frown that look so wrong on her face. He noticed how she rub her shoulder after dumping all her heavy books on her table. He noticed how she solemnly staring at his used to be seat with teary eyes. He noticed how she getting more comfortable with Cade. Being all loving at the cafeteria totally didn't help a bit.
Eventhough Cade always saved a seat for Rue in the cafeteria, he can't walked Rue to her class considering him being a senior except waiting for Rue at the bus stop. Which mean Cade's class is away from the juniours block. He also trying to keep up a good grade since he will be graduating soon. Which is Rue trying not to think about.

Zayden on purpose wasting his time by walking as slow as he can manage to the bus stop. Of course he do that, he still ignoring Rue.
He hummed under his breathe when he saw the bus stop is indeed empty.
"Well, if this is isn't the infamous Zayden who turn his back from his own bestfriend." A familiar voice exclaimed quite sarcasticly.
He mentally groaned and act like he didn't hear a thing cause that what he do best lately but that didn't make Cade stop playing with fire.
"You know, you really pissed me off. I think you know why. But since you too blind to see. Lemme point it out for you." Cade pause dramatically.
"I've been thinking to tell you the full stories but it just wasting my time. You are the main character by the way. So you must know you have been so selfish by letting your emotions get in a way and ruined everything." He said.
"You don't know anything." Zayden say through gritted teeths.
"That's where you wrong. I KNOW much more than you know how much I know. Zayden, I thought if you love someone but you can't be with them because they loves someone else, you have to let them go. If you can't, the least you can do is be by her side. It's mind over pleasure."
Zayden quickly stand up nearly knocking Cade in the process.
"I really not in a mood to talk about this Cade. I have a bad. I don't have a clue what are you babbling about. Gosh, gimme a break."
"I'm actually this closing from breaking your face for hurting her but violence is not the solution here. The girl you fall in love with, the one that you told Rue, is her, right?" Cade said fuming a bit.

Rue was on her way toward the school exit when her name was called.
"Ms. Valor, can you come to the principal's office right now?" Mrs. Blaise, Rue's former teacher asked making her nodded.
"Is there a problem?" Rue asked quite scared.
"No. I think it's about your sister." She reply while usher her into the principal room and leave quitely.
"Good Afternoon sir, you want to see me?" Rue feel intimidated to be here making her pale.
"Indeed, take a sit. Now straight to the point." Rue gulped loudly at that.
"We just received an urgent called from the college that your sister attend, saying your sister just got admitted to a hospital. They trying to contact your mother and father but both couldn't be reach. Then, they mentioned about you so I decided to look through your profile to search for an emergency contact and come across your aunt and asked her to come here. So, long short story. Now you aunt and uncle is on their way there and they dropped this house key."
"Oh, okay wow this is a lot. Is my sister okay?"
"I hope so, before you leave, take this cert with you."

Rue stand up and bow a bit politely. It's been ages since she heard of her sister. Her mind was occupied thinking about a happy family she used to has.
She was walking at the side walk when a bickering sound make her head snapped up searching for it. On instant, she saw Cade towering Zay.
His face red and an anger expression on his face. Both of them seems like into a deep conversation so Rue quickly sneaking around and hide behind the bus stop.
She know it is rude to eavesdropping but her curiousity game is strong. She quickly ducking and try to catch their conversation.
"--her, right? What? Cat got your tongue?" Cade said smugly.
"You don't know anything. I have my own reason to my action." Zayden reply seems tired of it and walked away.
What were they talking ab-
"You can come out now. You not as sneak as you think."
Oops?
Rue peeked around the corner and saw Cade raising his eyebrow in question, there's a glint of amustment in his eyes.
"Uh-um, I'm sorry, I didn't meant to--I just--"
"C'mere." He say while patting the empty seat besides him.
"Why are you late?" He ask like nothing happened. Well, weird.
Rue tell him everything that happen with her sister but no mentioning about her parent.
"So now, I have to catch a bus everyday until my aunty and uncle come back." Rue say after rambling.
"You don't have to worried about that, from now on you just have to wait for me in your class after the last bell rings. So I can accompany you back home." Cade finished then flashing his winning smile, showing his pearly white teeths and just like that Rue forget about the problems she facing now.
The effect he have huh.
