one year later ...

You walk down the stairs of your new home. You felt like home when you first walked in one year ago.

" Good morning gorgeous. ", Mark says to you while placing a sweet kiss to your forehead.

" Good morning. ", you say in response smiling.

You and Mark started dating a couple of months after he helped you get back on your feet. You guys just kind of hit it off and you thought that you couldn't be more grateful for him.

" I made you some breakfast. After we would you like to go somewhere with me ? ", he smiles down at you.

" Of course I would Mark. ", you smile back and give him a quick kiss on the cheek.

You follow him into the kitchen and he made you heart- shaped pancakes and coffee. You sit down at the table beside of Mark and notice there is writing on the pancakes.

" Happy 10 Months "

You felt your heart beat rapidly and the butterflies in your stomach began to flutter. You smiled at your plate and then up at Mark.

" I love you so much. ", you say to him.

" I love you more. ", he responds.

You both finish your pancakes and get dressed.

" Are you ready ? ", Mark asks you while heading to the car.

" Of course, where are we going exactly ? ", you ask him.

" It's a surprise. ", he smiles and hops into the drivers seat.

You walk to the passengers side and hop in. Mark drives you across town and you look out of your window at the beautiful scenery. However, you look over at Mark. He was the most beautiful person you have ever seen. You were so lucky to have him. He was everything.

You watched as Mark pulls up to a place that you have grown away from but are also far too familiar with.

The kitchen.

You look at Mark and he smiles at you.

" What are we doing here ? ", you ask him.

" Do you trust me ? ", he asks.

" Of course. ", you say without question.

" C'mon I have something to show you. ", he says while opening his car door.

You follow suit and walk into the kitchen.

You were greeted by loving arms that you haven't felt in a long time, it was Beth. She didn't look much different. Still so sweet and kind.

" Hello Y/N , I have missed you so much. ", she says with tears forming in her eyes.

" Don't cry Beth, its okay, I missed you too. ", you say feeling bad that you haven't visited.

" I told you that everything would turn out okay. You are so full of potential. You are extraordinary. ", she smiles through her teary eyes.

" Thank you Beth, thank you so much for all that you have done. ", you smile at her.

" oh I'm not the only one sweetie. ", she says and looks past you.

Confused you turn around and what you see leaves you completely breathless.

You saw Mark on one knee with a small little box in his hands.

" y/n, I know we have only been dating for 10 months but I'm not sure if I can go any further without being married to you. I love you so much. I need you. You always thank me for helping you but really, you helped me. You help me become happy. You have shown me that there is a life to live. You have shown me that every second of every day is a second I want to spend with you. So , y/n , will you marry me. ", Mark asks while waiting for your answer.

You are speechless. You felt the tears start to roll down your face as you nod your head yes.

Mark picked you up and kissed you passionately on your lips.

You have never been so happy. You are so glad that you ran into Mark that day at the kitchen one year ago.

You look at Mark and take in all of his features, not physical but mental. His personality, his charm, his kindness.

He wanted to help, thank god you let him.
