It's been 3 years.

It's been 3 years since you had last seen your best friend storm out of your house because you rejected him.

You have been alone for 3 years. Ethan left you at the alter. You have not had a real relationship with anyone in 3 years.

It took Mark 3 years to become popular on YouTube. He was the world famous " markiplier ". He had a great life. I could tell by his videos. He was happy.

You had just recently moved to LA and you are sitting in a coffee shop. You are sitting 10 feet away from him. The first time in 3 years. He turns around and looks at you.

" Y/N ? Is that you ? ", he asks with a smile.

" Hi Mark. ", you reply.

" Oh my god, what brings you to LA ? ", he asks you.

" I needed to get away from Cincinnati. So I came here for a new start I suppose. ", you tell him.

" Well that's great. We should catch up sometime! What's your number? ", he asks.

He deleted my number ? Of course he would. Why wouldn't he ?

You told Mark your phone number and he promised to text or call when he had time to catch up.

A FEW WEEKS LATER...

*ding *
You heard your phone ding and you saw it was from an unknown number.

Unknown Number:
Hey y/n ! Sorry it's been a few weeks but I'd like you to come to a party I'm hosting at my house tonight! Maybe we can talk and catch up ? :)

To Unknown Number:
Sure! Text me what time and the address!

You were excited and nervous to catch up with your old best friend. Maybe things could go back to when they were. You had developed feelings for Mark after watching his videos and thinking about all the times you both spent together. You realized that you had feelings for him the whole time but never really thought about them because you were with Ethan.

Maybe now you can try and start over with Mark. Maybe he still loved you like before.

You looked through your closet for a nice outfit to where to Mark's house. You decided to look dressy but not too fancy.

After applying makeup and fixing your hair you were ready for the party.

AT MARKS HOUSE...

You saw multiple cars parked outside his house in the gated community. It was a very large house.

You walked up to the front door and gave it a knock.

The door flung open and Mark was standing before you.

" Y/n ! You made it ! Come in. I want you to meet some people ! ", he said while grabbing your hand.

You couldn't help but blush when he grabbed your hand. The way your hand molded perfectly with his.

You shook the thought out of your head while he walks over to a big group of people.

" Hey guys this is y/n. ", Mark said to the group of friendly strangers.

" Y/n this is Jack and his girlfriend, Signe. This is also Felix and his girlfriend Marzia. ", he introduced everyone to me and they all smiled.

" Oh and I can't forget. Y/n this is my girlfriend Amy. ", he smiled and gave Amy a kiss on the cheek.

Your heart sank. Your heart felt like it was shattering into a million pieces. You felt like you were going to burst into to tears so you made an excuse.

" Where is your bathroom ? ", you aks Mark quickly.

" It's upstairs on the left. ", he says worriedly.

" okay I'll be right back. ", you said and quickly made yourself to the bathroom. 

You looked into the bathroom mirror at the broken girl staring right at you. 

You started to cry. The pain that you felt in your chest. Did Mark feel the way you did ? You would never want him to feel this way.

You wiped the tears off your cheeks and took a deep breath.

You walked out of the bathroom and saw a balcony. You decided to walk out to the balcony and get some fresh air.

You put your hand on the railing and closed your eyes.

" I'm still in love with you. ", you hear the familiar deep voice approach you.

" I saw you at that coffee shop through the window drinking your coffee and my heart caught on fire. I knew then that no matter what I did, I would never get over you. ", he say while you turned around to meet his dark brown eyes.

" I don't know if this is destiny or fate or if god is screwing with me. But, I see you standing here in front of me after 3 years and my feelings for you never disappeared like I wished they had. ", he continues.

" What about Amy ? ", you ask him.

" I'm not going to throw away all those years with her away just to see what would happen. To even see if you feel the same. ", he said.

" I do Mark, I do feel the same way. ", you say stepping towards him.

" y/n. I can't. ", he said putting his head down.

Rejection is a funny thing isn't it.

A single tear made its way down your cheek.

" I understand. ", you say and start to walk past him but he grabs your hand.

You turn around and he wipes the tear off your cheek.

" I'll never stop loving you y/n. ", he says.

You breath in when he leans down and kisses you. The kiss was quick but felt like it made up for all those years of lost time.

He broke the kiss and leaned his forehead against yours.

" Goodbye y/n. ", he says and walks back into the house and leaves you on the balcony. Alone.
