He gave me a small, velvet blue box, which I held it from him. I wandered my fingers around the box, feeling the soft material under my skin, wondering what could be inside it.
"What's inside?" I looked up with a hopeful smile to face a handsome face I knew for a while.
He smiled back mischievously before bringing his hands and shoving them into his pockets. "You won't know until you open it."
"Will I like it at least?" I joked to relieve some tension from my body.
"I wouldn't give it to you, if I knew you wouldn't like it." He smirked.
I squinted my eyes at him. "How would you know what I like?"
"I'm confident in my decisions." He said arrogantly to which I raised my eyebrow at. "But if wasn't, I would've asked Maribel for help, yet, I'm pretty sure you'll love this."
I grunted. "Whatever."
"Just open it, please." He said almost pleadingly. I raised my eyebrow in suspicion. "I just want to see your reaction."
I rolled my eyes and shook my head. I diverted my eyes towards the box in my hands. Gingerly lifting my hand that was shaking for some reason, I placed my index finger between the gap, closed my eyes and lifted the box.
"What is it?" My eyes still closed.
Feeling a warm breath on my neck, a soft voice whispered that made the hairs on my back stand up. "Open your eyes." Letting out a long breath, I opened my eyes and let them fall down towards the box. I gasped.
Inside was a large, red heart necklace with a silver chain. I took it carefully, feeling the cold metal behind the heart. I gave him the box to hold the necklace in both hands. I turned the necklace around and saw an inscription on the back 'Always'. I turned around to see him with a huge grin on his face.
"You like it?" he asked as if he were scared that I didn't. I beamed back, and gave him the necklace to wear it for me. I left his warm fingers leaving traces on my skin, making the same spots tingle. "So do you?" he asked again when he was done and that I was facing him fully.
"I love it." I admitted. He let out a sigh to which I grinned back.
I looked down, held the heart backwards, and asked "Always?"
"Oh," He leaned towards the heart, scratching his neck in discomfort, "I didn't notice that from before." He smiled sheepishly.
"You sure?"
"Okay, I can give you a hint." He said with a smirk.
I crossed my arms. "Sure."
He took a step forward, brought his warm hands to cup my face, leaned in and gave me a sweet, long kiss that made me weak on the knees. "That wasn't the hint." I mumbled after the kiss that made him smirk and nod. He moved his face revealing a wide smirk and a glint in his eyes.
"I know, I just really wanted to kiss you."
I gasped.
