Erin didn't know how to feel about the situation she was currently in. She practically had Holtzmann pinned against the desk. She could have acted on the emotions and feelings she'd been neglecting lately, but she didn't. Instead, she pulled away.
She turned around to return to her whiteboard only to feel a firm grip on her forearm and the next thing she knew there were soft lips being forcefully pressed to her's as if it were the last kiss those lips were ever going to feel.
Holtzmann was the first to pull away and she looked into Erin's eyes searching for some sort of reaction or emotion at the least. Erin was paralyzed. That kiss sent shocks and emotions through her that she had never felt before and she wanted more.
"Erin, please say someth-" Holtzmann started but was cut off by Erin's lips back on her's.
They stood there and kissed each other hungrily for a good while. It was like if they pulled away they were both going to be separated from each other, never to be kissed like that or to feel that way again. Neither wanted to let go of the other and they were content like that.

That night while everyone was leaving the firehouse, Erin decided to stay back to finish her work. She didn't have much, but she'd rather get it done than have it on top of another work load tomorrow.
"Staying late, too?" Holtzmann asked her from behind her workbench, startling Erin.
"Jesus, Holtz! I didn't know you were still here." Erin squeaked, trying to catch her breath.
"Sorry, Gilbert. Didn't mean to scare ya." Holtzmann said, walking over to where Erin was sitting and climbing onto her lap.
"Holtzmann, what are you doing?" Erin asked, extremely confused.
"I'm about to kiss you. Duh." she said with a smirk as she leaned in and placed her lips on Erin's. Erin kissed back for a few moments before pulling away.
"Alright, you kissed me. I have to do my work now, Holtz."
"But whyyyyy" Holtzmann whined, making a puppy dog face that was absolutely adorable to say the least.
"Because work is important." Erin replied, watching Holtzmann's face fall, realizing how hurtful what she just said might have been to Holtzmann. "Holtz, I didn't mean you're not important. I meant that this work needs to be done tonight and you can kiss me any other time."
"Is that an open invitation, Erin Gilbert?" Holtzmann asked her coyly, regaining the light in her eyes which Erin found mesmerizing. She also couldn't help but notice how the moonlight lit up her hair and skin. She truly was so beautiful and all Erin wanted to do was kiss her but right now, she had work to do.
"Whatever, Holtz. I'll be done soon." Erin replied, gently pushing Holtzmann off of her lap and returning to her work.
She could hear Holtzmann return to her workbench and suddenly heard the radio turn on. She turned around in time to see Holtzmann dancing and lip syncing to "The Right Stuff" by New Kids on the Block, much like she had to DeBarge's "Rhythm of the Night" when they first met. She felt this was Holtzmann personally teasing her, thinking back to the time she was telling the gang about her love for New Kids on the Block when she was in middle school.
"You're not going to give up, are you?" Erin shouted over the music. Holtzmann grinned and shook her head 'no.' Erin sighed and walked over to Holtzmann's workbench and turning off the radio.
"Hey!" Holtzmann whined with a pout.
"Let's go to bed, Holtz. It's late." Erin sighed. There was no use trying to beat the traffic in the winter at night. Erin reckoned she would be staying at the firehouse a lot until the weather starts to get better.
"You're not going home to your apartment?" Holtzmann asked Erin, confused.
"No and neither are you." Erin said, taking Holtzmann's hand and dragging her to the couch.
They positioned themselves so that Erin was laying on the inside and Holtzmann was half on top of her. She wrapped her arms tight around Holtzmann's middle so she didn't topple off of the couch.
"Erin?"
"Yeah, Holtz?"
"I'd talk to you in an AA meeting."
"Go to sleep."
