The steam was blinding and hurt like hell. Finally, I reached the other side of the wall of steam. "It's okay! It's not that long of a time!" I hollered.
The others jumped through, their skin red from the hot steam.
"That freakin' hurt!" Keaton said. "I bet" I said. Kitt rubbed her arm, bright red from the steam. "Are you 'ight?" I asked. She nodded and rubbed her arm again. I shrugged.
As the Hissing of the steam slowly faded away, the emptiness and the silence grew and grew steadily. I had my flashlight point down the hall, only more trash and junk appeared from the darkness. A skeleton of a dead rat passed by, normal for all of us now. "Anyone want a water?" Kitt asked. I nodded and she tossed me a water. I handed her my flashlight so I could take a drink.
The treck was growing longer and longer to reach whatever Richard said was the way out.
"How much longer is it till we reach....reach....reach what you want us to go to?!" Kitt exaggerated.
"Oh quit your crying Kitt, we got a little while more a head " He joked and said. She sighed and growled.
"Geesh, what was that for?" I questioned. She didn't awnser, probably because she was mad.
I knew how she felt. We all did. More and more trash littered the cramped hall. Only a few doorways passed us. All of the rooms just had tools, wheelchair parts and equipment. "Are you sure we're going the right way?" Keaton moaned.Richard only kept his head forward and nodded.
As we continued walking, a sound of hissing grew and grew again. "Isn't this the way to the Steam room?" I questioned. "Yes, it is" Richard said eagerly. I thought he must have really lost his mind. A doorway slowly came from the darkness, above a sign said "Steam Room". Richard lead us into the room. Keaton questioned "What now?!" Richard only looked forward and didn't turn around and spoke. "Now it's time. Time to tell the truth and to do something I've been meaning to do."
