Serenity.

That's what Ava felt as she laid across the colorful leaves that littered the ground, basking in the bright sunlight. Her blue eyes roamed her surroundings, taking in the fresh air and newly-found smell of grass.

Earth. Even the word itself spread happiness throughout her entire being. Despite being nervous about inhabiting the planet earlier, Ava felt like Earth was where she belonged. Finally, she was free of her dreadful cell and was able to make her dreams on Earth become a reality.

Suddenly, an all-too-familiar pair of googles on top of a cheeky looking Jasper loomed over her, blocking the view of the vibrant sun.

"Ava!" he said, a goofy smile stretching across his face. "We've been looking all over for you."

Turning her head to the right, Ava saw Monty by his side, bouncing on the balls of his feet.

"I was kind of hoping we'd find you taking a bath in a lake or something," Jasper started as Monty elbowed him, "but this is good, too."

The brunette let out an amused giggle as she jumped up to her feet. She looked around the woods that surrounded them. "Isn't Earth just beautiful?"

"Yeah," Jasper said while ogling at Ava, "it sure is."

Monty nudged the lanky boy out of his trance, "Could you be any more obvious?"

Oblivious to their comments, Ava pushed past them and dashed back through the trees the way she had came. The two boys jumped at her sudden departure.

"Ava, where are you going?" Monty called.

"Back to the drop ship," she responded, her brown hair blowing in front of her face. "Come on, slow-pokes!"

Immediately, the duo ran after the intensely beautiful girl whom they'd only met just mere hours earlier.

...

"Hey, isn't that the Chancellor's son? Wells?" Ava asked, gazing at the backs of a dark-skinned boy and a blonde-haired girl hunched over what appeared to be a map.

"Yeah, that is. And more importantly," Jasper said, puffing his chest out, "that's a very pretty girl standing next to him." Ava and Monty groaned in sync, watching as Jasper swaggered his way over to the pair.

"Oh no," the girl moaned, "is he really?"

"He is," Monty sighed, averting his eyes to the ground and shaking his shaggy head in mock shame.
