Chapter 24
Maddie kept staring at her phone until it ended. Relieved that it was over, she grabbed her backpack and went to school.
                              Maddie's POV:
My mind was crowded with thoughts. The phone call was still being replayed in my mind maybe once or twice or maybe a hundred times.
The bell had wrung, signaling it was time to head to my first class. The pencil tapping was meant to silence the thoughts in my brain but it just got many people annoyed. The teacher even had to take the pencil away. There were no way to silence the thoughts now. One by one, they rolled in.
                              They hate you.
They want you gone.
They regret ever meeting you.
The thoughts become more loud as each passing moment went by. The room started spin very violently, with voices telling me to do awful things to these people. My head started to pound. It was a brick being banged against my skull fifty times over. Then, it all went black.
                              *Dream*
The waves became bigger and bigger as the thunder became louder and louder.
"Come on! Wake the fuck up!" The captain screamed as the waves crashed against super small ship. A lightening strike was fifty feet closer than I wanted it to as the another one came closer. The strikes became closer and closer.
"COME ON! WAKE THE FUCK UP!" The captain screamed as everything was spiraling.
                              *Dream ends*
                              Maddie's POV:

"AHHH!!!!" I shot up so fast that my jaw was pulled as well.
"Are you okay?" A soft voice spoke into my ear. I snapped to the direction of the voice. I rubbed my head saying, "Um, what?"
"Are you okay?" The girl, whose name I believe is Kiley, repeated.
"Yes." I said, pushing up to from the ground.
"You need to go the nurse's office." An older woman, who was the principal, spoke as she grabbed my hand to lead me to the nurse's office.
The bed in the office was a white soft cloud.
"That feels good." I moaned, my body sinking into the bed.
"Here's a sandwich." The principal handed me a turkey and cheese sandwich with a side of potato chips. The first bite was heaven with the turkey and cheese being the perfect combo.
After I ate my mid afternoon lunch, heels were heard; coming from outside the office.
"Honey! Are you alright?" A worried voice said, searching for any type of injury.
"Mom, I'm fine. I just fainted." I said, trying to gently push my overbearing mother off.
"Don't push me off, Madison Allen!" She said sternly. I crossed my arms like a 6 year old child which allowed to her to continue her search. When she didn't find what she searching for, she stared at me intently for a few seconds.
"Why did you faint?" She continued to stare at me with the same intense look.
                              "I- I didn't eat my lunch." I lied through my teeth. I'm a type 1 dieamateic.
"Come on, Madison! You gotta eat your lunch..." She went on and on and soon it turned into a lecture. The same lecture I've had over a million times since last year. I was 12 when I was diagnosed.
"And don't let it happen again!" I snapped back into reality.
"I know, Mom. I'm sorry." I hugged my mother, only feeling slightly guilty that I had lied to her. Her hugs were the best hugs you could ever get.
