Cori POV Chapter 48

I feel horrible for what I did to London, but Nia isn't going anywhere until Steph does. We've been playing with the twins for over an hour now just laughing. This is what I've been waiting for. I noticed that London still wears her engagement ring. Although she didn't wait I can tell she still had hope. I grabbed her hand and she looked up fast. I caressed her hand in mine.
"Hey I'm going to go make something for the kids. Do you want something?" She looked shocked and took in a breath before she spoke.
"Uh, yes, please," I got up and started walking up the steps. She didn't take her eyes off of me.
"Momma where are you going?" Tristan asked and London's attention changed down to them.
"I'm going to make some grilled cheese? Is that okay?" Their eyes opened up wide.
"We love grilled cheese!" Tyla shouted and I smiled wide.
"Well I'm on it. I will call everyone up when it's done," and with that I jogged the rest of the way upstairs. I heard them continue to play downstairs. When I reached the top of the steps I realized the silence coming from the rest of the house. I walked around and reminisced for a moment about how things use to be. My life was at it's high point and just like my momma said I was going to end up like my father. I checked my phone and I had a text message from an unsaved number.
"Hey, it's Nia. How's everything at home? Did I piss her off enough?" I laughed and typed back.
"Fine, we had a talk but I already made up my mind that you're not going anywhere,"
"I don't believe you but it's nice to hear, I'm not the kind of girl to get my hopes up when I'm just trying to have some fun" damn. I don't even know what to say to her.
"You're funny, but I will hit you back later I'm about to make make a little something" i put my phone down on the granite countertop. Then pulled out the bread. I heard my phone vibrate again and I went over to check it.
"Maybe I could join the family for dinner😉 lol I'm just kidding, ttyl" I laughed and put my phone down to continue what I was doing.
In about 20 minutes I was done and I called everyone upstairs. We ate and talked to each other. Zeus came and sat next to me after I finished. I could feel London staring at me and I looked up to meet her eyes.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, why?" She said looked down and biting her sandwich.
"You were staring," i raised my brows at her.
"What I can't stare anymore?" I chuckled and figured I would quit while I was ahead.
"Nevermind," I looked down at Zeus and he jumped up to lick my face. An hour later we took the kids upstairs to put them to bed. We tucked them in and kissed them goodnight. Eventually we made it back to the master bedroom. "I'm going to hop into the shower," I said and London took off her shorts showing her VS underwear, next was her shirt. She's wearing a set that I bought her a while ago. I licked my lips and turned around.
