When people support you in doing wrong, it's usually out of their own opportunism. They don't love you or care about you, but they will tell you that they love you as long as they can use you to their benefit. When people try to stop you from doing wrong out of love for you, they put aside their own benefits because they don't want to see you self destruct. They abide by principles that are binding not just upon everyone around them, but also upon themselves.

Omar Ibn Al Khattab (ra) said, "Let not one of you see a fault in me except that he corrects it." He even asked those who refused to do so to leave his gatherings.

Don't lose your real friends and surround yourself with spineless opportunists. Don't lose your family and adorn yourself to strangers that will eventually be bored of you. Surround yourself with people that actually make you better, not those that always tell you that you're doing good.
