Trigger warning: Blood

Killian followed Ruby's car and ended up at her house. The girls left the car laughing and smiling, and it brought a smile to his face as well. He hadn't heard Emma laugh yet. Not up close that is. Anytime she saw him, she was on guard and laughing was the last thing she wanted to do, but he wanted to change that. He wanted her to trust him. Even if it took years for it to happen, she would eventually learn and accept him.

He turned around and went back to his house. He had gathered paint and wood for fixing things inside and outside of the house. When the time came, he would take her to his house and explain everything to her. He would tell her the truth. He knew that Mr. Gold was a retired hunter. Killing supernatural creatures- vampires mostly, was apart of his job. But as soon as the man found out about the vampire in town, Killian knew that the older man couldn't resist plunging a stake into his heart. But, if need be, Killian wouldn't hesitate to sink his fangs into the man's throat and drain him dry.

Emma spent the afternoon at Ruby's house with Ruby, Jefferson, August, Anna, and Elsa. They were a happy bunch of friends. While they were hanging out together, Emma managed to once again, forget about the monster following her. She forgot about how he had enough power and strength to change her room around and how he was able to save her.

But when the sun began to set, Emma knew she had to get home. She hadn't driven with anybody because she didn't have many bags, and her house was a short distance away from Ruby's. While she was walking, there was a woosh and a sudden gust of wind, and then Killian was standing right in front of her.

"Do you want me to take your bags?" He asked.

She looked at him confused for a moment. "What?"

"Your bags. I can take them and carry them as I walk you back to your house."

"Okay," she said hesitantly and handed them to him. "Why are you attached to me? What makes me so special?"

"I don't know," he said with a nervous laugh. "I just know that you are."

Emma looked down at the ground. There were so many questions she had, but she didn't know where she should start at asking them. "Do you have mind control?"

"Aye. Comes in handy when it's needed."

"Can you read people's minds?"

"Aye."

"Have you ever done any of that to me?"

"No. I won't either. Your mind is your own and I won't invade it. I want you to trust me, and I promise I won't do anything to hurt you." Emma looked up at him to find that he was already looking at her. "Will you give it a chance?"

"How old are you?"

He chuckled. "Depends. Which age do you want? The age that I turned or the age that I am now?"

"Now."

"Five hundred eighty nine."

Emma stopped walking and her jaw dropped. "What about the age when you turned?"

"Twenty three."

"Oh."

He laughed. "I've been waiting for you for a very long time, love."

Emma took a deep breath and looked back down to the ground. She just couldn't wrap her head around the fact that there was a vampire who pined for her. He stopped walking beside her and looked around. She looked over at him with confusion and curiosity. "What's wrong?"
