Chapter 1 - Too Little Too Late

"Hey Shiela, mind telling me where are we?" I said really not knowing where we are.

"We are on this place called Archbaker Wood." she said as she took a branch from a broken tree.

"Why'd you get that?" I asked her why.

"It has a sign on it." she said as ants crawled on the broken branch with the sign.

"OMG!" she shouted as she immediately covered her mouth with her hands.

"Are you alright?" I gasped as she slapped me.

"Of course I'm alright!" she looked at me with that angry face.

"Why'd you have to slap me?" I asked her as she sat down on a log.

"Ewwwwww!!!!" she screamed as she saw a green slug.

"What the..." I said as picked up the slug and threw it away to a river nearby.

It wasn't about a few minutes as we heard big footsteps from afar.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" Shiela screamed with fear.

"Calm down..." I said.

[Awkward Silence for about 5 seconds]

"RUN!!!" I said as loud as possible and rumbled through the woods.

The monster came out. It has the most horrible face I've ever seen in my entire life. It has big flappy bunny ears yet brown and very hairy. It has 3 eyes, one on top which is blinded. It has 2 arms attached to one another along with the 3 pairs of fingers. Its feet are long and skinny, yet are white in color and very strong. It has two big sharp teeth going out of its own mouth and saliva drooling out, too. It is the strangest and most terrifying face in this world.

We ran as fast as we could. I hear Shiela's voice from behind getting softer and softer until I can't hear her anymore. I didn't know where to go. I tried to find her, but the monster is still following me. As I saw a bright light up ahead, I immediately ran as quickly as I could.

...

"Huh?" I opened my eyes as I saw nothing but a cemented roof painted in a color almost similar to peach.

"Oh, you've waken up, girl!" Someone said from a distance of the room.

"Lily? What? Where am I?" I said as I can't remember anything.

"You're in a hospital. You fell down the stairs this morning and broke your leg, ... remember?" Lily said in a serious tone.

"How come you look a bit worried?" she asked politely of course.

"Oh, ... I just a bad dream!" I was still worried about the dream about Shiela.

I got up from my hospital bed and walked out of the room and sat on the waiting couch at the entrance of the hospital. Archbaker Wood is such a weird place to live in. As about that weird flashback dream about Shiela, I never really remembered a thing after I got to the place where that bright light was. I was still unsure where she is now. Suddenly, ...

"Huh?" I looked and said at a person who walked in front of me.

"Jack!!!" Ishouted as I was delighted to see his face.
