CHAPTER SIXTEEN: NEW JOB

"There you two are! We were going to have to miss the movie!" Louis told us when Harry and I practically ran into the theater.

"I'm sorry, traffic was horrible." Harry stepped in.

Only the guys were at the theater, which made me wonder where Alice was and why she wasn't here. And I really wanted her to be here.

We went to see the Conjuring. Who picked the movie? I had no idea, but I definitely wasn't ready for it. Nor was I in the mood to be watching a scary movie.

I was sitting in the middle with Liam on left with Niall next to him and Zayn next to Niall and on my right I had Harry with Louis next to him. We were in the middle of the packed theatre.

The lights dimmed and trailers for other movies came onto the screen. After a good ten minutes or so, the movie started.

In the middle of the movie, my phone kept on vibrating. I knew it wasn't a phone call since that's a whole different vibrate than my texting one. I have special vibrated for all of my friends. This vibrate was the one for Dad.

The phone kept constantly going off and luckily I was the only one that heard it. I got tired of it vibrating so I got up and left the theatre, after telling Liam I had to go to the bathroom.

I sat down on the bench that was right next to the theatre and dug my phone out of my bag.

DAD:

HEY DYLAN, I KNOW YOU'RE IN A MOVIE BUT THIS COULDN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO GET HOME. SOMEONE CALLED ME AFTER YOU LEFT AND ASKED IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE AN ASSISTANT TO JOSH TRABLINE ON Q13.8 ON THE RADIO. THEY NEED AN ANSWER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. CALL THIS NUMBER SOON. 555.182.6335 LOVE YOU XX

I put the number into my phone and called in.

"Q13.8 Radio Station, how may I help you?"

"Hi, my name is Dylan Payne and my father had gotten a call for me to assist Josh Trabline on the show."

"Yes, I've heard about you. Does this mean you would like to accept the offer?"

"Yes, I would love to be on the radio." I smiled.

"Fantastic. We would love for you to come into the station today for your schedule. If you are not available, you're first day is on Tuesday at 4pm."

"Yeah, I'm with a group of friends now, but I can come in in an hour and a half, is that good?"

"That's perfect."

"Alright, I'll see you then." I hung up the phone and walked back into the theatre.

As I sat back down in my seat, five minutes before the movie ended. The six of us waited for people to exit the theatre before leaving the theatre ourselves.

"So Dylan." Louis said when we made it outside the theatre.

"Yes?"

"You took a while to go to the bathroom, is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine, why wouldn't it be?" I laughed as Liam put his arm around me.

"Because I heard your phone go off every five minutes during the movie." Liam said to me.

"Okay, okay. Dad texted me telling me that I got a job at the radio station. It's no big deal." I shrugged it off.

"That's a huge deal!" Liam stopped walking and picked me up into a hug with all of the guys hugging us. It was definitely weird. Especially when we were in the middle of the parking lot.
