Chapter 15: Rampage

I have had a LOT of homework lately.

Bashur's POV

I looked out toward the hole in the trees, out toward the canyon. I thought I heard Jordan and the boys but to my surprise there was somebody else there.

A girl.

Jordan was on the other side, thrashing like an idiot and dramatically pointing at her.

She must be an attacker!

I waved my hand at 4 other boys and they came silently running, all baring spears and Ian bringing me one as well. We snook up behind her, and I saw that she was just drawing on the ground with a stick. Didn't look like much of a threat but Jordan seems to want her dead.

I grabbed my spear that had been carved from a walihya tree branch (only found in Azikar). All 5 spears are wood and took months to make, perfectly.

I was closest, so I through the spear with great aim at her head, sure to kill her. It was as if everything was in slow motion. The girl raised her hand. The spear speeding at her head, once only a few meters away, the sharp end caught fire. The flames moved down and burnt the entire thing to ashes on the ground before it even touched her.

She flicked her wrist, her fingers pointing up, and the entire ground around us caught flames. We were trapped in a circle with this girl. A circle of flames, burning at least 10 feet high.

She stood, dropping her hand, and turning toward us. Her hair lit fire and burned above her head, and her eyes appeared to be on fire.

"How dare you." She said, clearly very angry.

"I was no threat whatsoever, and you decide to try to kill me?!" She now yelled. She stomped over to me, as I was currently frozen with fear. She looked me dead in the eyes.

"You." She said.

"You are they're leader?" She demanded.

"Yes." I lied, with just a little too much confidence.

She, without breaking her stare, slapped me across the cheek.

It burned horribly. Like metal that was just removed from a fire, still red with heat. It was very painful. It continued to burn and sting.

Ian, behind me raised his spear and held the end in front of her face, threateningly.

"Who are you." He demanded.

"Oh please." She rolled her eyes.

She stared at the spear, and sure enough it too burned to ashes.

She raised her hand, and the rest of our weapons burned to ash.

She turned back to us.

"Sit." She commanded.

I wasn't just going to be treated like a dog! I turned around to my 4 mightiest warriors, to see them sitting on the ground, fear in their eyes.

I sat on the ground as well.

"Who are you?" She asked.

I was about to say we weren't telling her anything, when Ian chirped in

"We are the trees men."

"Ah, Jordan told me about you." She said.

"Jordan is one of us!" I said.
